Employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package that balances health, financial security, professional growth, and work-life flexibility, including:

  • Based in Houston or College Station with mostly remote work environment and schedule
  • Occasional travel for site visits, client meetings, field investigations and project coordination
  • 401(k) with company match
  • 100% employer-paid healthcare, dental, and vision for employees; partial coverage for spouses and families
  • Flexible paid time off, paid holidays, and generous parental leave
  • Professional development and educational assistance, including coaching, licensure fees, and specialized training programs
  • Team-building, social, and family-friendly events that foster collaboration and a positive culture

Team members are supported in a collaborative, family-first environment where their contributions help deliver meaningful projects, exceed client expectations, and shape the built environment nationwide.

To succeed as the Civil Project Engineer, you should have:

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an accredited university and Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification in the State of Texas.
  • 3-8 years of experience in civil engineering design, site development, land development, or related engineering projects.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office applications, with the ability to produce accurate engineering plans, calculations, and project documentation.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment and manage multiple priorities to meet project deadlines.
  • Must successfully complete a background check and be willing to sign a restrictive covenant agreement, including confidentiality and non-solicitation provisions, as a condition of employment.

H2B prefers a Civil Project Engineer to have:

  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure in the State of Texas, or active progress toward obtaining licensure, with a strong foundation in civil engineering principles and project delivery.
  • Experience with local permitting processes, regulatory requirements, and design standards within the Greater Houston and/or Central Texas regions.
  • Knowledge of design-build and design-bid-build project delivery methods, with the ability to support projects through planning, design, and construction phases.
  • Experience working on industrial, commercial, healthcare, corporate, educational, or similar site development projects.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, designers, drafters, clients, and project stakeholders to deliver successful project outcomes.

Your responsibilities as the Civil Project Engineer will include:

  • Assist in the design and development of civil engineering projects, including site layout, grading, drainage, paving, utility infrastructure, water distribution, sanitary sewer, and stormwater management systems.
  • Prepare engineering calculations, technical analyses, construction drawings, and project documentation using AutoCAD Civil 3D to support project planning, design, and construction activities.
  • Support the preparation of engineering reports, feasibility studies, schematic designs, permit applications, and regulatory submittals while coordinating with clients, consultants, and permitting agencies.
  • Conduct field investigations, site visits, and data collection efforts to support design development, verify existing conditions, and ensure project accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project managers to deliver high-quality projects on schedule, maintain organized project documentation, and support multiple concurrent assignments.
