Job description

Overview

Overview:

We are looking for a Senior Manager, Project Management to lead a team of Project Managers and Senior Project Managers delivering enterprise healthcare technology implementations. This role combines people leadership with hands-on delivery oversight, ensuring your team executes consistently and at a high level within established GPS delivery standards and governance.

This role plays a key part in advancing PMO maturity, improving delivery predictability, and partnering cross-functionally to support customer outcomes, business growth, and operational efficiency. Success means your team delivers on time, within scope, and to customer expectations -- and that you are developing talent, managing risk proactively, and driving accountability at every level.

What you will do:

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Project Managers and Senior Project Managers, including performance management, career development, and day-to-day guidance.
  • Build a team culture grounded in accountability, transparency, and customer-focused execution.
  • Identify skill gaps and support professional growth in alignment with PMO competency expectations.
  • Model strong delivery leadership and prepare your team to engage confidently with customers and internal stakeholders.

Delivery Performance & Oversight

  • Own delivery outcomes across your team's portfolio of customer engagements, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Provide active oversight on complex and at-risk projects, helping PMs navigate escalations, resolve blockers, and maintain customer confidence.
  • Ensure your team is consistently applying PMO delivery standards, governance practices, and reporting requirements.
  • Leverage portfolio health data and project metrics to monitor team performance, surface risks early, and keep leadership informed.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Delivery, Customer Success, Product, Technology and Operations leaders to align on priorities, resource needs, and execution sequencing across the customer lifecycle.
  • Serve as an escalation point for your team and a reliable partner for internal stakeholders on delivery-related issues.
  • Contribute to resource planning and capacity management activities to optimize team utilization and support delivery commitments.

Operational Execution

  • Ensure your team follows established PMO standards, tools, and reporting cadences with consistency and quality.
  • Identify patterns across your portfolio and surface process or tooling feedback to PMO leadership for continuous improvement.
  • Support onboarding of new PMs and reinforce delivery standards across the team.

What you bring:

  • 8+ years of project/program management experience with demonstrated success leading complex customer-facing initiatives.
  • 4+ years of people leadership experience, including managing global and/or distributed teams.
  • Strong working knowledge of project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Hybrid) and their practical application in enterprise delivery environments.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize across a portfolio of concurrent projects while staying close enough to the work to coach and intervene when needed.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive alignment across multiple functions and leadership levels.
  • Excellent communication, executive presentation, stakeholder management, and organizational leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to lead through ambiguity, drive change, and operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Proficiency with project and portfolio management tools such as Jira, Smartsheet, MS Project, and related systems.
  • Experience in healthcare technology, SaaS implementations, or professional services organizations preferred.
  • PMP, Prince2, or equivalent certification preferred.
