Job description

Are you customer obsessed and passionate about driving scaled cloud impact across the public sector. We're seeking a Technical Program Manager to serve as an embedded engineering lead within prioritized AWS Worldwide Public Sector (WWPS) sales verticals - operating at the intersection of Sales, Solution Architecture, and Engineering to unblock top priorities using advanced engineering capabilities.
Our WWPS Engineering (WWPSE) team accelerates Public Sector cloud adoption by delivering solutions where others cannot. We convert complex technical barriers into breakthroughs, combining deep engineering expertise with product strategy to deliver outcomes that create lasting value

Our work force-multiplies impact across the ecosystem by enabling partners to scale solutions, reinforcing AWS Service Teams with Public Sector-specific contributions, and unblocking customers with solutions that drive continued innovation long after our engagement.
What's in it for you. You'll be part of a vertically-aligned engineering organization embedded directly within WWPS sales verticals - US Federal (GNSD, FedFin, FedCiv), Healthcare & Life Sciences, and State/Local Government & Education. You'll operate the three-party decision model between Sales, Solution Architecture, and Engineering, ensuring engineering capacity is deployed where it creates the greatest scaled impact

You'll build trust with Sales and SA leadership, drive foresight into emerging priorities, and position engineering involvement early where depth of technical judgment is the critical path to success. You'll work alongside Software Development Managers and Engineers, co-building with AWS Service Teams and Partners to deliver force-multiplied outcomes across the vertical.
Key job responsibilities
- Serve as the dedicated TPM lead embedded within a prioritized sales vertical, building sustained trust with Sales and Solution Architecture leadership
- Drive foresight into upcoming vertical priorities, positioning AI engineering involvement early where it can deliver the greatest leverage against sales-owned objectives
- Operate the Prioritization Triad Model - providing structured comparative inputs on scale potential, reuse, complexity, time-to-impact, and delivery risk when multiple opportunities compete for engineering capacity
- Qualify engineering engagements against a scale bar: WWPS scalability, service team reusability, multi-customer applicability, and force-multiplier potential
- Manage engagement lifecycle from qualification through delivery, coordinating across Software Development Managers, Solution Architects, and Service Team stakeholders
- Surface engineering impact through existing Sales and vertical business cadences - maintaining a continuously updated view of active investments, expected outcomes, and realized impact
- Drive co-build execution with AWS Service Teams and Partners, ensuring solutions close service gaps or create repeatable patterns that benefit multiple customers across the vertical
- Develop lightweight, data-led assessments that inform Sales and SA decision-making on suitability of engineering engagement
- Participate in existing vertical planning, prioritization, and inspection forums - adopting established Sales and SA mechanisms rather than introducing parallel processes
- Manage capacity aligned to the vertical through Minimal Deployment Units (MDUs), ensuring utilization against priority outcomes
