You'll be working on the challenges that sit at the heart of modern business. No matter your role, the work you do will help organizations move faster, see more clearly, and tackle questions that used to feel impossible.
If you're ready to meet the moment with innovation, curiosity, and excellence, there's a place for you here.
Senior Technical Program Manager
Location: US (Remote)
Position Overview
At Alteryx, we put data and AI to work for the intelligent enterprise. Alteryx One connects data, governed business logic, and AI-driven insights and actions in a scalable platform.
We're looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager to drive foundational platform services programs that help make this vision enterprise-ready.
In this role, you will lead platform initiatives across Product, Engineering, Infrastructure, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE). You will bring structure to complex programs by clarifying scope, sequencing dependencies, managing risks, and keeping teams aligned on outcomes.
This role is ideal for someone who combines strong technical depth with exceptional program leadership, can bring clarity to ambiguous problem spaces, and knows how to drive momentum across many stakeholders without losing sight of customer value, engineering quality, or business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
  • Own end-to-end delivery of complex, cross-functional platform initiatives, ensuring alignment with company goals, architectural direction, and committed milestones.
  • Partner with Engineering, Product, Architecture, Security, SRE, and Infrastructure teams to define:
    • Program scope
    • Execution plans
    • Dependencies
    • Risks
    • Launch readiness criteria

    • RAID logs
    • Dependency maps
    • Status reports
    • Executive communications
    • Documentation in Jira, Confluence, and related tools
  • Translate technical discovery and architectural decisions into executable plans spanning design, development, testing, rollout, and adoption measurement.
  • Monitor delivery and operational success through metrics including:
    • Milestone attainment
    • Release readiness
    • Service health
    • Quality signals
    • Customer adoption outcomes
  • Support engineering trust initiatives that improve:
    • Reliability
    • Security
    • Compliance
    • Performance
    • Cost visibility
    • Engineering productivity
  • Champion delivery best practices and mentor other Technical Program Managers to scale execution excellence across Alteryx.
Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in Technical Program Management, Engineering Program Management, or complex software delivery within cloud or platform-focused environments.
  • Proven track record leading large, cross-functional initiatives across multiple engineering organizations where architecture, infrastructure, security, and product delivery intersect.
  • Strong understanding of modern cloud platform concepts, including:
    • Distributed systems
    • Microservices
    • APIs
    • Identity and Access Management (IAM)
    • Observability
    • Networking
    • Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • Experience delivering platform, enterprise SaaS, compliance, or trust-focused programs in partnership with Security, Trust, GRC, Infrastructure, and SRE organizations.
  • Strong proficiency with Agile methodologies and software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices, along with the judgment to adapt processes to team and program needs.
  • Expertise with Jira, Confluence, and related planning and reporting tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage ambiguity, create structure within evolving problem spaces, and drive alignment across technical and executive stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging for engineers, senior leadership, and cross-functional partners.
