Responsibilities may include diagnosing hardware or software issues, assisting customers or employees with technical problems, and maintaining systems remotely. These roles often require strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and knowledge of relevant technologies. Remote Tech jobs can be found in various industries, including IT support, cybersecurity, cloud computing, and software development.

What are some common challenges faced by Remote Tech professionals, and how can they be addressed?

Remote Tech professionals often navigate challenges such as troubleshooting issues without physical access to devices, managing multiple support requests, and ensuring clear communication across time zones. Description

Join Our Team as a Director of Technology Solutions!

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Technology Solutions to lead technology at Flood & Peterson. This role shapes our technology strategy while ensuring secure, reliable operations that support business priorities and growth.

In this role, you will lead internal teams and external partners to deliver effective, business-aligned solutions. You will balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution-stepping in when needed to ensure continuity and progress on key initiatives.

This is an opportunity to influence how technology supports our people, strengthens operations, and drives long-term success across the organization.

What You'll Do

  • Hands-On Leadership & Execution: Provide hands-on leadership across system implementation, troubleshooting, and solution delivery while maintaining working expertise in key platforms and effectively delegating work.
  • Strategy, Roadmap & Governance: Develop and guide a practical technology roadmap aligned with business goals, supported by clear priorities, metrics, and governance.
  • Solution Delivery, Innovation & Business Enablement: Lead technology initiatives end-to-end while partnering with business stakeholders to improve workflows, drive adoption, and enable operational efficiency.
  • AI Enablement, Governance & Responsible Use: Identify, evaluate, and implement AI-driven solutions while establishing governance standards and guiding teams on effective and responsible use in alignment with business and compliance expectations.
  • IT Operations & Service Delivery: Oversee daily IT operations by leading technical staff and applying incidents, problems, and change management practices while serving as the escalation point for critical issues.
  • Cybersecurity (Third-Party Led): Serve as the primary liaison with the cybersecurity partner, coordinating incident response, access reviews, and security initiatives while regularly communicating security posture and updates to leadership.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead, develop, and oversee IT team members, including hiring, performance management, training, and work allocation to ensure effective support and operational excellence.

What You Bring

  • Education and Work Experience: 8+ Years of experience working in IT Operations, including team leadership and technology project oversight.
    • License or Certification Requirements:
      • Requires current Colorado driver's license and acceptable MVR.
  • Technical Expertise: Working knowledge of systems administration, network infrastructure, security practices, and cloud/SaaS environments.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate and partner with teams across the organization.
  • Leadership & Execution: Proven leadership, decision-making, vendor management, and project management capabilities.

Why Join Us?

  • Growth Opportunities: Access to professional development and certifications
  • Supportive Culture: Be part of a team that values collaboration, integrity, and continuous learning.
  • Flexible Work Options: Upon completion of training enjoy a customizable schedule that can include up to two days remote, alternating 5-day & 4.5-day work weeks, and flexibility in start and end times.
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Enjoy a competitive salary, healthcare options, retirement plans, and more.
    • Salary Range - Starting pay for this exempt position is $150,000 - $160,000 annually. Pay may exceed this range for well-qualified candidates, commensurate with experience. In addition to regular pay, this position is eligible to participate in our annual performance incentive program.
    • Benefits - At Flood and Peterson all full-time employees are eligible for benefits, including Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life insurance, paid time off, paid holidays, and paid Volunteer Time Off. Full-time employees are also eligible to participate in our 401k plan, which includes both safe harbor and discretionary matching.
  • Flood and Peterson Values: At Flood and Peterson, we are dedicated to our Employees, Clients, Communities, and Strategic Partners. Our values guide everything we do:
    • Integrity - We uphold the highest standards, acting with honesty, trust, and the courage to do what's right.

    • Commitment - We take responsibility, prioritize teamwork, and dedicate ourselves to fulfilling the Flood & Peterson promise.
    • Impact - We strive for meaningful results, aiming to build a lasting legacy through positive influence and service.
