Job description

SOLV Energy is a leading provider of infrastructure services to the power industry, designing, building and maintaining utility scale solar, battery storage and high voltage substation projects nationwide.

Job Description Summary:

Responsible for supporting preconstruction coordination activities for electrical system design and procurement on utility-scale renewable energy projects, with a strong emphasis on electrical material procurement coordination. This role bridges engineering, procurement, and construction by translating design into actionable Bills of Material.
This role is fully remote. Specific location details and expectations will be discussed during the interview process.

Position Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Electrical SystemConstructability& ProcurementCoordination
  • Develop,refine, andsupport execution ofdetailed electrical Bills of Materialthrough material take-offs and design reviews, ensuring alignment with project specifications, constructability requirements, and budgets.
  • Partner with relevant stakeholders to ensure BOM accuracy, revision control, andalignment with procurement strategy, including supplier selection approach, lead time considerations, and cost optimization.
  • Contribute to constructability reviews byvalidatingmaterial selectionsand installation considerations against field practices and procurement constraints.
  • Review contract documents toidentifyelectrical scope requirements and compliance obligations, ensuring alignment with design and procurement activities.
  • Analyze design constraints, material lead times, and project schedules to ensure procurement milestones are achieved, includingtimelyrelease of long-lead and critical path materials to mitigate schedule risks.
  • Support material procurement planning through development and maintenance of schedules, delivery sequencing, and milestone tracking tools (e.g., Smartsheet)
  • Support procurement execution activities including RFQ development, bid evaluation, vendor coordination, and purchase order release to ensure alignment with project schedules and material strategies.
  • Additional Position Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Prepare,transmit, and trackdesign & material submittalsfor EEOR& ownerreview
  • Supportthe Electrical Preconstruction Management teamwith preparationand trackingofproject-specificelectrical material budgets
  • Assistwith updatingSmartsheettrackers to reflect changes to project schedules,status of EPC exhibits,procurementmilestones, submittal reviews, and design deliverables
  • Coordinate with project field teams toensurevendor invoicesarecodedas assigned

Minimum Skills or Experience Requirements:

  • 2-5+ years of experience in electrical construction, procurement, estimating, or materials management, preferably supporting utility-scale solar or similar EPC projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Construction Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or similar discipline; equivalent will be considered
  • Demonstrated experience with electrical material scopes and BOM development
  • Experience supporting electrical material procurement, contract execution, or supply planning functions is strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of electrical install practices, material applications and specifications, procurementworkflowsand lead time management
  • Proficient inBluebeamandMicrosoft Excel
  • Proficient inSmartsheetpreferred
  • Ability to read and understand electrical plans
  • Effective written and verbal communications skills
  • Detailed orientedand effective organizational skills
  • Strong work ethicand ability to work autonomously
  • High aptitude for problem solving and critical thinking
  • Strong senseof urgency
