Position: Network Engineer - Level III
Clearance: Secret
The Network Engineer Level III is a senior IT professional responsible for leading the design, implementation, and management of complex network systems. This role involves resolving high-level network issues, optimizing infrastructure for scalability, and ensuring compliance with security and performance standards. The Level III engineer provides strategic guidance, mentors junior staff, and plays a key role in planning and executing enterprise-level network projects. Duties are:
  • Design and implement advanced network architectures to support organizational goals and scalability.
  • Lead the planning and execution of network upgrades, migrations, and expansions.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for critical network issues.
  • Optimize network performance and scalability through proactive monitoring and adjustments.
  • Develop and enforce network policies, procedures, and security protocols.
  • Manage the lifecycle of network hardware and software, including procurement and upgrades.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to assess and address long-term network requirements.
  • Document network designs, configurations, and operational procedures for knowledge sharing.
  • Mentor and train junior engineers to build team expertise and capabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with federal IT security standards, such as FISMA, NIST, and other applicable regulations.

Professional Qualifications/Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
