What you will do
  • Design, build, and enhance customer-facing product functionality across our healthcare platform.
  • Own the software and services you build, designing with reliability, scalability, and maintainability in mind to develop high-quality software using modern engineering practices.
  • Build and maintain Kubernetes-based application deployments.
  • Design, implement, and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to provision and manage cloud resources.
  • Improve CI/CD pipelines to enable reliable, automated software delivery.
  • Build reusable infrastructure modules and deployment patterns that improve consistency, reliability, and scalability.
  • Automate operational processes to reduce manual effort and improve platform reliability.
  • Collaborate with software engineers to improve deployment processes, developer workflows, and platform capabilities.
  • Monitor production environments and continuously improve observability, alerting, and operational health.
  • Identify and resolve scalability, performance, reliability, and operational challenges.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and implement durable, long-term solutions.
  • Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate software delivery, improve code quality, automate repetitive tasks, generate tests, improve documentation, and solve technical problems.
  • Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to the long-term technical direction of the platform.
  • Write clean, maintainable, well-tested, and well-documented code.

What you need
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS, IT, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience and the demonstrated ability to learn
  • Strong software engineering experience developing production applications.
  • Experience administering Kubernetes clusters (Amazon EKS preferred).
  • Experience working with AWS cloud service such as EKS, RDS, IAM, S3, Route 53, ALB, and CloudWatch.
  • Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar).
  • Experience automating infrastructure, deployments, or operational workflows.
  • Understanding of cloud architecture, scalability, distributed systems, and modern application design.
  • Experience troubleshooting production systems in cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with observability, monitoring, and logging platforms.
  • Demonstrated proficiency using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, ChatGPT, or similar to improve software development effectiveness.
  • For candidates newer to AI-assisted development, a strong willingness and proven ability to rapidly learn and adopt modern AI-powered engineering workflows.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with an ownership mindset.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.

  • Experience with GitOps tools such as Argo CD or Flux.
  • Experience with Docker and container security.

Compensation
In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base salary range for this position is $80,000 - $116,000, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. If you are hired at NRC Health, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to those factors - we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued salary growth. We also offer a generous compensation and benefits package. NRC Health is not currently hiring in DE, HI, MD, NJ, RI, D.C. While this position may allow for a work from home environment, preferred candidates live in the Lincoln, Nebraska and surrounding areas.
