This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Game Mathematician Team Lead (Slots) in Netherlands.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced game mathematician to lead the development of innovative slot mechanics within a fast-growing iGaming environment. You will play a central role in designing and balancing engaging gameplay experiences while collaborating closely with game designers, developers, and cross-functional teams. The position combines deep mathematical expertise with creative experimentation, rapid prototyping, and data-driven decision-making. You will contribute to the full lifecycle of game creation, from concept validation to simulation and optimization. In addition to hands-on mathematical design, the role offers opportunities to mentor team members and help shape future game development standards. This fully remote position is ideal for someone passionate about slot mechanics, player psychology, and building high-performing gaming experiences at scale.

Accountabilities:

This role focuses on developing engaging slot game mathematics, optimizing gameplay mechanics, and supporting the delivery of high-quality gaming products through collaboration and innovation.

  • Participate in the development of new slot games throughout all major stages of production
  • Design and balance game mathematics and mechanics in collaboration with game designers and development teams
  • Conduct mathematical simulations and validate performance against target metrics such as RTP and volatility
  • Analyze competitor slot mechanics and industry trends to identify opportunities, benchmarks, and gameplay insights
  • Rapidly prototype and test new gameplay mechanics and concepts for validation and iteration
  • Collaborate with backend and technical teams to ensure accurate implementation of game mathematics
  • Support continuous improvement of mathematical models, gameplay balancing, and player engagement strategies

Requirements:

The ideal candidate combines strong commercial experience in slot game mathematics with analytical thinking, creativity, and a passion for building engaging player experiences.

  • 2-3+ years of commercial experience as a Senior Game Mathematician within the RMG or slot gaming industry
  • Proven portfolio demonstrating successful slot mathematics and gameplay design projects
  • Strong understanding of slot game mechanics, player psychology, RTP balancing, volatility, and engagement principles
  • Ability to rapidly prototype and validate game concepts and mathematical models
  • Strong analytical and data-driven approach to problem-solving and decision-making
  • Experience conducting simulations and validating gameplay performance against predefined targets
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills within cross-functional game development teams
  • High level of motivation for solving complex challenges and contributing to ambitious projects
  • Leadership or mentoring experience is considered a strong advantage
