Working remotely on tabletop games often presents challenges like coordinating across different time zones, maintaining effective communication among team members, and ensuring all participants are engaged during online sessions. Facilitators and developers may also encounter technical difficulties with virtual tabletop platforms that require quick problem-solving. Building a cohesive gaming experience remotely can take additional effort compared to in-person sessions, making strong organization and digital collaboration skills essential. However, many professionals find that refining these skills ultimately leads to more efficient workflows and meaningful connections with a broader, global community.
To thrive in a remote tabletop game developer or facilitator role, you need strong knowledge of tabletop gaming mechanics, rules design, and digital collaboration tools, often supported by experience in game development or relevant degrees. Proficiency with virtual tabletop platforms (such as Roll20, Fantasy Grounds), project management software, and online communication systems is typically required. Creativity, clear communication, adaptability, and teamwork are key soft skills for engaging players and contributing to collaborative projects. These skills ensure the creation of engaging gaming experiences and smooth team collaboration in a remote setting.
A Remote Tabletop Game job involves facilitating, designing, or managing tabletop role-playing games (TTRPGs) or board games in an online environment. This can include roles such as Game Master (GM) for virtual TTRPG sessions, digital board game development, or community management for online gaming groups. Responsibilities may involve storytelling, rule enforcement, player engagement, and technical setup using virtual platforms like Roll20 or Foundry VTT. These jobs can be freelance, part-time, or full-time positions, depending on the employer or platform.

What this role is
This isn't a role where you explain what live streaming is to a room full of blank stares. This is a role where you shape how major brands show up authentically in the spaces where gaming and tabletop communities actually live.
You'll develop and run social strategy for a high-profile gaming and tabletop engagement by connecting brands to fans across platforms, from Twitch and YouTube to TikTok, Instagram, Discord, Reddit, and the tabletop communities where these audiences gather. You'll blend cultural fluency with strategic rigor to create work that earns attention, not just impressions, and you'll keep the day-to-day engine running: calendars, publishing, community, and reporting.
You live and breathe gaming and tabletop culture. You know the difference between a raid and a host, you have opinions about VOD strategy, and you understand why community norms vary wildly between platforms and fandoms. You bring that fluency to brand work that respects the intelligence of the audience.
You are comfortable in the gray. You bring structure where it's needed, move at the speed of culture, and stay close enough to the work to keep the quality bar high. You sit at the intersection of social strategy, community insight, and content innovation, working closely with creative and account teams.
Location: Remote, Los Angeles preferred. There is no expectation to work from a physical office, though candidates who prefer a hybrid or in-office environment are welcome.
This position is full time temporary for now with potential to hire.
