Job description

Description
The Opportunity
Humble Bundle is seeking a highly motivated, entrepreneurial Business Developer to lead and expand our Tabletop Role-Playing Games (TTRPG) vertical. We are looking for a proactive self-starter who is excited to independently generate product ideas, seeing those concepts through to completion with enthusiasm, drive, and tenacity.
The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of the tabletop gaming landscape and strong relationships with publishers, indie creators, and digital asset makers. In this role, you will initiate and close deals to create compelling bundles of core rulebooks, campaign settings, digital maps, Virtual Tabletop (VTT) modules, 3D print files, and more. You will sell your bundles to a growing community of millions of customers, continuing Humble Bundle's mission to act as a force for good by raising money for worthwhile causes and bundling great content.
This role is based in the United States. For applicants around our office locations in Los Angeles or New York, there may be a requirement to work a hybrid schedule. For all others around the US, this position will be remote. This role is full-time, with an expectation to work beyond our standard working hours from time to time to attend industry events and for publisher needs. This role will require travel 1-2 times each year for industry events and conferences. This position involves work with a computer, requiring extended periods of sitting or standing, and regular use of hands and vision. Occasional travel is required, which could include lifting and carrying materials, and navigating airports, hotels, and other venues.
Key Responsibilities
  • Identify, prospect, and establish new business relationships with top publishers, indie creators, and digital tabletop asset developers in the TTRPG space.
  • Structure and close deals for Humble Bundle promotions, ensuring mutually beneficial terms that provide immense value to customers and dependable revenue for partners.
  • Drive regular promotions from initial concept and developer outreach to the final launch on the site, leveraging your genre expertise to build enticing, highly sought-after product tiers.
  • Maintain a deep and up-to-date understanding of the global TTRPG space, identifying the latest trends across major systems, rising indie mechanics (e.g., PbtA, OSR), and crowdfunding successes.
  • Maintain and scale our current portfolio of partners alongside building new connections. Serve as their primary liaison through regular check-ins, collaborative strategic planning, and an active presence at industry conventions (e.g., Gen Con).
  • Work closely with the Humble Bundle Operations, Marketing, Business Intelligence and Creative teams to find new tactics to build the most appealing products and ensure the flawless execution of complex digital promotions.
  • Track key performance metrics and build accurate sales forecasting, leveraging data to guide your long-term business development strategy and navigate market obstacles.
Job Qualifications
The Must-Haves
  • 3+ years of business development, licensing, or sales experience in digital retail, publishing, or the tabletop gaming industry.
  • A deep, authentic love for Tabletop RPGs and the gaming community. You can speak fluently about key publishers, creators, diverse game systems, and the modern digital tabletop ecosystem.
  • Excellent negotiation, verbal, and written skills. You are comfortable with challenging sales calls and can articulate complex ideas persuasively.
  • Proven ability to proactively work independently on multiple projects at once, taking ownership from start to finish while completing them on schedule.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to inform decisions and build consensus.
  • A collaborative mindset with a proven track record of building strong relationships both internally and externally.
Bonus Points
  • An existing network of contacts within the TTRPG publishing and creator space is a significant plus.
