Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive clinical evaluations to assess clients' mental health needs, and design tailored treatment plans that leverage evidence-based practices.
  • Utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to effectively address individual client issues.
  • Maintain meticulous, confidential clinical records, strictly adhering to HIPAA regulations and other compliance standards.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary treatment team, which includes psychiatrists and psychologists, to ensure comprehensive care for every client.
  • Engage in regular case consultations and participate in peer review sessions, contributing to the continuous improvement of therapeutic approaches within our center.
  • Educate clients and their family members about mental health conditions, treatment options, and available community resources, fostering an informed and supportive environment.
  • Stay informed about the latest research and advancements in mental health to continually refine your therapeutic skills and knowledge.

Our client base comprises individuals facing an array of mental health challenges, including anxiety disorders, depression, trauma, and life transitions. As a mental health counselor at Firefly, you will have the opportunity to work with diverse populations, helping them navigate their unique struggles and enhancing their overall quality of life.

Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees such as a master's or doctorate are preferred.
  • A valid license to practice in California as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) is essential.
  • Experience with solution-focused psychotherapy and the ability to customize treatment approaches based on individual client needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills that foster a trusting and respectful therapeutic relationship.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities, enabling effective resolution of client challenges.
  • A collaborative mindset that values teamwork and promotes a nurturing, growth-oriented work environment.
Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience in a clinical setting working with diverse mental health populations is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with telehealth platforms and remote counseling methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a stable caseload while maintaining high standards of care.
