Position Description

Navaide is seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA Basis Administrator to support a greenfield SAP S/4HANA implementation for a large federal government program. The Basis Administrator will provide technical application administration across development, testing, and production environments; ensure SAP applications meet established technical service levels; and implement corrective and preventive maintenance measures. This role will support the design, build, testing, implementation, and ongoing management of SAP environments and related application components, with a strong focus on SAP S/4HANA and BW/4HANA administration and monitoring. The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced Agile/Scrum environment to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable solutions based on customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer, monitor, and maintain SAP S/4 HANA and BW/4HANA systems across development, testing, and production environments.
  • Support the technical design, build, configuration, testing, implementation, and ongoing management of SAP environments and related application components.
  • Monitor system availability, performance, capacity, background processing, interfaces, and technical service levels; identify issues and implement corrective actions
  • Plan and execute SAP system upgrades, kernel updates, patches, support packages, enhancement packages, and other maintenance activities.
  • Perform system refreshes, client copies, transport administration, job scheduling, and other routine Basis operations.
  • Troubleshoot complex SAP application, database, and infrastructure issues; conduct root cause analysis and recommend sustainable solutions.
  • Use SAP Solution Manager and/or SAP Focused Build to support monitoring, change control, testing, and application lifecycle management activities.
  • Collaborate with functional, development, security, database, infrastructure, and integration teams to support end-to-end system operations.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, operating procedures, configuration records, and system administration standards.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and communicate technical status, risks, dependencies, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. citizenship required due to client requirements
  • Successful completion of a background check and security clearance is required before beginning work.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Business, or another related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 7 years of SAP implementation and post-production support experience.
  • At least 4 years of SAP Basis administration experience, preferably supporting SAP S/4HANA environments.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP architecture, system administration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience administering and monitoring SAP S/4HANA and BW/4HANA systems.
  • Experience with SAP system upgrades, patching, support packages, and enhancement packages.
  • Experience with SAP Solution Manager and/or SAP Focused Build.
  • Ability to analyze technical problems and provide clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present technical strategies and information to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SAP Basis certification or another related SAP certification.
  • Hands-on SAP HANA administration experience.
  • Experience supporting a greenfield SAP S/4HANA implementation.
  • Experience working as part of an Agile delivery team.
  • Federal government or public sector SAP implementation experience.

Desired SAP Technologies:

Candidates should demonstrate recent hands-on experience with several of the following technologies and capabilities: SAP S/4HANA, SAP BW/4HANA, SAP HANA, SAP Solution Manager, SAP Focused Build, SAP transport management, system monitoring, performance tuning, system refreshes and client copies, kernel and support package maintenance, backup and recovery coordination, and SAP application lifecycle management.
