Remote Saas Consultant information

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote SaaS consultant, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote SaaS Consultant, you need expertise in cloud software solutions, client needs analysis, and a strong understanding of SaaS business models, often supported by a relevant degree or certifications in cloud technologies. Familiarity with CRM systems, SaaS platforms (like Salesforce or HubSpot), and remote collaboration tools is typically required. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and self-motivation are crucial soft skills for building client trust and managing projects independently. These abilities are essential for delivering tailored solutions, ensuring client satisfaction, and successfully navigating the demands of remote consulting.

What are the main challenges faced by remote SaaS consultants when supporting clients across different time zones?

Remote SaaS Consultants often work with clients from various geographical locations, which can create scheduling challenges and require flexibility to accommodate different time zones. Effective communication is crucial to ensure timely responses and maintain strong client relationships despite the physical distance. Consultants frequently use collaborative tools and prioritize clear documentation to bridge any gaps caused by asynchronous work. Being proactive about setting expectations and regularly checking in with clients helps mitigate misunderstandings and ensures smooth project delivery.

What does a remote SaaS consultant do?

A Remote SaaS Consultant helps businesses select, implement, and optimize Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions while working off-site. They assess a company's needs, recommend appropriate software, assist with onboarding and integration, and provide ongoing support and training. Their goal is to ensure clients get the most value and efficiency from their SaaS products, all without needing to be physically present at the client's office.

This is a true hunter role, ideal for a motivated sales professional who enjoys prospecting, consultative selling, and building relationships with decision makers. You will manage the entire sales cycle from generating new opportunities through outbound prospecting and inbound inquiries to conducting product demonstrations, presenting customized solutions, negotiating proposals, and closing new business. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, organized, highly competitive, and thrives in a fast paced sales environment. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, a consultative sales approach, and a passion for helping dental practices achieve measurable business growth.

Work Location

This position is based in San Diego, California, where we strongly prefer candidates who can work in a hybrid environment, combining in-office collaboration with remote flexibility. We recognize that exceptional talent isn't always local. For highly qualified candidates with a proven track record of success, we may consider a fully remote work arrangement on a case by case basis. Applicants located in California or Texas are preferred; however, outstanding candidates from elsewhere in the United States are encouraged to apply for remote consideration. The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, and capable of working independently while maintaining strong collaboration with cross functional teams and contributing to our company culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate new business through outbound prospecting, cold calling, email outreach, referrals, and inbound lead follow up.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through contract execution and close.
  • Conduct virtual consultations and product demonstrations for prospective clients.
  • Identify client needs and recommend customized SaaS and digital marketing solutions.
  • Develop and present compelling proposals tailored to each practice's business goals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with dental practice owners and key decision makers.
  • Effectively handle objections and negotiate agreements that create long term client value.
  • Maintain accurate sales activity and pipeline management within Salesforce and other CRM platforms.
  • Collaborate closely with Marketing, Client Success, and Implementation teams to ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Consistently achieve or exceed monthly and quarterly sales goals.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of professional sales experience, preferably in SaaS, digital marketing, or healthcare related industries.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills. Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn Google Workspace, Gong, Salesforce, Microsoft Excel, and other business applications.
  • Experience with or strong interest in internet marketing, SEO, digital advertising, and SaaS technologies.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated success selling Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions into strategic or enterprise accounts, preferably within the healthcare or dental industries.
  • Proven ability to prospect, conduct discovery, deliver compelling product demonstrations, overcome objections, negotiate, and close new business.
  • Consultative sales approach with the ability to recommend digital marketing strategies aligned with clients' business objectives.
  • Experience managing a complete sales cycle from lead generation through closing.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, accountability, and work ethic.
  • Competitive, goal oriented mindset with a strong desire to exceed performance expectations.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross functional teams.
  • Dental industry experience preferred (2+ years preferred; minimum of 1 year required).

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive base salary plus uncapped commission
  • On Target Earnings (OTE): $100,000+ 401(k) with company matching
