Job description

We are currently looking for a HealthShare Application Engineer -Overnight Shift for a 100% remote position supporting a large federal government healthcare modernization project. This role is responsible for supporting and maintaining InterSystems HealthShare and IRIS environments, including platform administration, production support, automation, CI/CD processes, security integrations, and system performance optimization.

This position requires support of an alternative schedule. Candidates must be available to work either Monday-Friday from 3:00 PM to 12:00 AM EST or 11:00 PM to 8:00 AM EST, with 12-hour weekend shifts (7:00 AM-7:00 PM EST) on Saturday and Sunday.

The candidate must reside within the continental US.

Responsibilities:

  • Support and maintain InterSystems HealthShare, Health Connect, IRIS, and related platform technologies in production environments.
  • Develop and implement automation solutions to improve operational efficiency and streamline software delivery processes.
  • Maintain Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and deployment processes.
  • Perform system administration activities including installation, configuration, patching, backup, recovery, and performance tuning.
  • Manage certificate lifecycle activities and support security integrations including OAuth, SSO, and ADFS.
  • Provide Tier 3 production support and troubleshooting for HealthShare applications and related infrastructure.
  • Configure and support monitoring, alerting, and operational tools to ensure platform availability and reliability.
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support team objectives and ensure the success of the project.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in information technology, healthcare IT, or federal government contracting environments.
  • Hands-on experience supporting InterSystems HealthShare, Health Connect, IRIS, Ensemble, or Cache environments.
  • Experience administering Linux/Unix-based systems and large middleware applications.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS.
  • Experience developing or maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Ansible, or similar technologies.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as Splunk, Dynatrace, CloudWatch, or equivalent solutions.
  • Familiarity with OAuth, SSO, certificate management, and enterprise authentication technologies.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and modern software delivery processes.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) healthcare systems or other federal healthcare programs.
  • Experience with healthcare interoperability platforms and technologies.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate or similar cloud certification.
  • Experience with Python scripting and infrastructure automation.
  • Experience supporting highly available production environments and on-call operations.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government clearance.
