Job Title: Senior Mechatronics Engineer – Robotics & Automation

Location: Austin, TX

Job Summary:

The Senior Mechatronics Engineer will support the modernization of legacy manufacturing equipment by integrating advanced robotics and automation technologies. The role requires expertise in industrial robotics, PLCs, motion control, and electromechanical system integration within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Upgrade existing production lines by integrating industrial robots, cobots, and automated systems.
  • Design and implement mechanical, electrical, and control system integrations.
  • Program and optimize industrial robots, PLCs, and motion control systems.
  • Configure sensors, actuators, motors, HMIs, and vision systems.
  • Create 3D CAD models and simulate robotic work cells before deployment.
  • Commission, troubleshoot, and optimize automated equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and robotic safety standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and provide technical support and training.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, Automation, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience in industrial robotics and manufacturing automation.
  • Hands-on experience with Fanuc, ABB, KUKA, or Universal Robots.
  • Strong knowledge of Allen-Bradley/Rockwell or Siemens PLCs.
  • Experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, MATLAB/Simulink, or ROS/ROS2.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in robotics, motion control, and electro-mechanical systems.
  • Experience integrating mechanical and electrical systems into automated production equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience modernizing legacy manufacturing equipment.
  • Knowledge of robotic safety standards and OSHA compliance.
