Key Responsibilities

• Deliver therapy through secure and user-friendly telehealth platforms to facilitate effective client interactions.
• Conduct comprehensive client intakes, assessing their mental health history, needs, and goals to develop tailored treatment plans.
• Facilitate ongoing therapy sessions, providing clients with strategies to cope with their challenges, process their experiences, and achieve personal development.
• Maintain meticulous and confidential client records in adherence to ethical guidelines and privacy standards.
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including psychologists and social workers, to coordinate care and support client progress.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As part of your role, you will work with a diverse client population dealing with a variety of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship challenges. Your understanding of different cultural backgrounds will help create a respectful and inclusive therapeutic space, ensuring that all clients feel valued and understood.

Qualifications

• A Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field is required.
• Current Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) license in New York State.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to build rapport and trust with clients.
• Sound clinical judgment and decision-making skills, based on evidence-based practices.

Preferred Experience

• At least 2 years of experience as a mental health counselor or therapist, with demonstrated proficiency in a telehealth setting.
• Experience working with diverse populations and familiarity with various therapeutic approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) or Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).
• Prior experience in an outpatient mental health practice is a plus.
