A Remote Retail Director is a senior leader responsible for overseeing retail operations, sales strategies, and team management for a company, but works remotely rather than from a physical store or corporate office. They coordinate with store managers, analyze sales performance, set goals, and develop policies to enhance customer experience and profitability. This role often requires strong communication, leadership, and analytical skills, as well as experience in retail management. Working remotely, they leverage digital tools to connect with teams and monitor business performance across locations.

How does a Remote Retail Director effectively manage and support store teams from a distance?

A Remote Retail Director leverages digital communication tools, regular video check-ins, and performance dashboards to stay connected with in-store managers and staff. They focus on fostering a collaborative culture by setting clear expectations, maintaining open lines of communication, and providing timely feedback and support. Additionally, they often coordinate virtual training sessions and utilize real-time sales data to guide decision-making, ensuring that remote oversight does not hinder operational excellence or employee engagement.

To thrive as a Remote Retail Director, you need extensive experience in retail management, strategic planning, and a proven track record of driving sales growth, often supported by a bachelor’s degree in business or a related field. Job description

Regional Manager – Sales Performance

Remote | Retail, Demos & Experiential Marketing

This is a remote leadership role with real ownership and real upside.

We’re hiring a Regional Manager to lead sales performance across a defined territory (even if you don’t live there). You’ll manage teams operating in retail stores and in-store demos — using data, tech, and frequent field visibility to drive results.

If you’re competitive, money-motivated, and comfortable leading teams through dashboards, video, and performance metrics — this role is built for you.

Compensation & Upside

  • Base salary range: starting at $70,000 + bonus potentials that could match salary
  • High performers earn more responsibility, larger regions, and faster advancement

What You’ll Do

  • Own sales performance for your assigned region — the numbers are yours
  • Build and retain your team through recruiting to fill gaps in Demo schedule
  • Coach and develop sales promoters remotely and through company communication tools
  • Use sales reports, dashboards, and CRM tools to spot trends and gaps
  • Hold teams accountable through regular check-ins, scorecards, and KPIs
  • Partner with local leadership to improve underperforming locations
  • Ensure brand standards, execution, and compliance are met daily

Who Thrives Here

  • Competitive and driven by results (and bonuses)
  • Comfortable leading teams you don’t see every day
  • Tech-forward — dashboards, spreadsheets, and reporting don’t scare you...emphasis on reporting
  • Coachable, direct, and confident giving feedback
  • Organized, proactive, and able to self-manage remotely

Experience

  • 2–5 years in retail, sales, food service, or customer-facing environments
  • Experience with multi-location or distributed teams preferred
  • Costco, Walmart, Sam’s Club, demos, events, or roadshow experience is a plus
  • Team lead or informal leadership experience strongly preferred
  • Recent grads with strong sales experience encouraged to apply

Tools, Tech & Requirements

  • Daily use of a laptop and mobile device
  • Working knowledge of Excel, Google Sheets, or performance dashboards
  • Ability to learn CRM, scheduling, and reporting tools quickly
  • Comfortable managing multiple locations across time zones
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends
