Job description

Full-Time, Hybrid or Remote - Northern California, Oregon or Washington

Position Summary

The Attorney Recruiting Coordinator supports full-cycle attorney recruiting across Fisher Phillips' California, Oregon, and Washington offices, with primary responsibility for associate and counsel hiring. This role is an integral member of the Associate, Counsel, Virtual Office, and Law Student Recruiting team. The Coordinator works closely with Recruiting Managers, attorneys, and firm leadership to support hiring needs, identify and engage qualified candidates, manage recruiting activity, and deliver a high-quality candidate experience throughout the recruiting process.

In addition to lateral attorney recruiting, the Coordinator supports law student recruiting initiatives, including on-campus recruiting, first-year hiring, and the Summer Clerk Program. This role requires strong organization, sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple recruiting priorities in a fast-paced professional environment.

The Coordinator is an integral member of the Attorney Recruiting team and is expected to take ownership of assigned recruiting activity, maintain accurate recruiting data, communicate proactively, and contribute to the continued improvement of the firm's recruiting processes and technology.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Lateral Attorney Recruiting

  • Coordinate the full-cycle recruiting process for associate and counsel positions across assigned West Coast offices, including candidate sourcing and screening, interview coordination, candidate communications, offer preparation, post-offer engagement, and onboarding initiation.
  • Build relationships with Regional Managing Partners, office and practice group leaders, and other hiring attorneys to understand hiring needs, provide recruiting updates, and support hiring objectives.
  • Source and assess candidates, prepare concise candidate summaries, and present qualified candidates to hiring teams.
  • Manage candidate communications throughout the recruiting lifecycle while delivering a responsive, high-touch candidate experience.
  • Build and maintain relationships with approved search firms and other recruiting sources to support current and anticipated hiring needs.

Student Recruiting

  • Support law student recruiting initiatives, including on-campus interviewing, first-year hiring, recruiting events, and the Summer Clerk Program.
  • Coordinate candidate and attorney communications, interviews, offers, and other student recruiting activities as assigned.
  • Partner with members of the Attorney Recruiting team to support a consistent candidate and summer clerk experience across offices.

Recruiting Operations & Reporting

  • Maintain complete and accurate candidate and requisition information in the applicant tracking system and other recruiting tools.
  • Monitor recruiting activity, pipeline status, hiring metrics, and source data, and prepare regular reports to support team and leadership visibility.
  • Support consistent recruiting processes and identify opportunities to improve workflows, data quality, candidate experience, and the use of recruiting technology.
  • Process recruiting-related expenses and provide administrative coordination as needed.
  • Support firmwide recruiting initiatives, special projects, and other offices as business needs require.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Three or more years of law firm recruiting, attorney recruiting, legal search, or related professional services recruiting experience preferred.
  • Law firm or attorney search firm experience strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and experience working with applicant tracking systems.
  • Experience with LinkedIn Recruiter preferred. Experience with viGlobal and iManage is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to coordinate multiple attorney searches and recruiting activities simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and responsiveness.
  • Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with attorneys, candidates, firm leadership, search firms, and colleagues at all organizational levels.
  • Strong candidate sourcing and screening skills, including the ability to assess experience and qualifications against defined hiring needs.
  • Excellent organizational, project management, and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize competing demands and meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate recruiting data and records.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a geographically dispersed team.
  • Curiosity about recruiting technology and a willingness to adopt new tools and processes that improve recruiting effectiveness, reporting, and candidate experience.
  • Commitment to continuous learning, professional development, and providing exceptional service to candidates and internal stakeholders.

Location & Work Arrangement

Candidates must reside in Northern California, Oregon, or Washington to be considered. The position may be performed fully remotely or in a hybrid arrangement, with the option to work from a Fisher Phillips office two to three days per week.

Compensation

The estimated annualized salary range for this position is $76,300 to $95,000 for candidates residing in California and $69,900 to $87,400 for candidates residing in Oregon or Washington. Actual base pay within these ranges will be determined based on factors including location, relevant experience, internal equity, skills, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
