Job description

Please note that while this is a remote position, the selected candidate must live in - or be willing to relocate to - Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, or Oklahoma.
Is this job for you?
Are you naturally curious? Is "attention to detail" one of your superpowers?
Do you enjoy digging deep into the details of a given subject to understand all that's happening below the surface?
Are you looking for a part-time job opportunity that's flexible to fit around your life and schedule and can be completed from anywhere with a reliable Internet connection?
If you answered yes, you may be a great match for our Research Support Specialist role!
A little about us...
Telogical Systems was established 20+ years ago by a couple entrepreneurs that were passionate about building a company that would delight customers, be a blessing to its employees, and benefit shareholders. That passion continues to drive us today!
We are on a mission to help telecommunications companies across North America successfully understand their competitive landscape so that they can win and retain more business. We achieve this mission through a unique approach: we conduct deep data research and deliver it via journalistic updates, structured reports, and homegrown software applications. We're looking for a Research Support Specialist to contribute to the heartbeat of all we do: extensive data research.
About the position...
The part-time Research Support Specialist role is heavily focused on three, primary responsibilities as follows:
  1. Develop expertise of the telecommunications industry. You will utilize publicly available sources, especially websites, to understand how your team's portfolio of telecom providers market their products and services to consumers and businesses.
  2. Take great care of our clients. While this isn't a client-facing role, your daily work has a direct impact on our clients' satisfaction. Your research supports our clients' tactical decisions every day.
  3. Become an expert data wrangler. Data is at the center of what we do, so you will develop skills in managing and aggregating data, particularly in Excel.

To be successful in this role, we anticipate the right candidate will possess the following attributes and capabilities:
  • Detail-oriented - demonstrates an acute (friends might say uncanny!) attention to detail
  • Quick learner - picks up on new concepts quickly and applies them just as fast
  • Curious - demonstrates hunger for continuous improvement and learning
  • Determined - strives for the best results, even when the going gets tough
  • Reliable - demonstrates self-discipline in both task and time management
  • Team-oriented - believes that teamwork is a key ingredient to problem-solving
  • Clear communicator - conveys information clearly both in conversation and in writing
  • Available - able to contribute ≈20 productive hours each week, including participating in occasional audio or video meetings

What's in it for you?
Good question! In addition to joining our fantastic team, we offer the following:
  • Employee-focused work environment that fosters open communication and recognition
  • Company leadership that believes in flexibility, empowerment, and innovation
  • Operational philosophy that thrives on lean practices and continuous improvement
  • Competitive salary and access to 401(k) with company match (after six months)

Sound like a fit? Tell us about it!
Please submit your resume along with a one to two page cover letter describing why this is the position for you, and a member of our team will be in touch soon.
