About the Role

As the Director, Loss Prevention Market Investigations, you will lead the Market Investigations team in effectively impacting shortage and safety initiatives across all stores. You will direct a team of Investigators responsible for detecting internal theft and providing directional guidance to the field organization on internal theft.


What You'll Do

  • Set the vision and strategy to protect Kohl's associates and company assets through technology and analytics

  • Build and sustain an investigations model that benefits and drives results for the company

  • Drive the internal shortage prevention strategy in partnership with key Corporate and Field stakeholders

  • Drive consistency and agility in Kohl's investigations models and best practices that mitigate shortages and exposures to the company

  • Set the direction of the technology needs of the Loss Prevention Investigations team

  • Assist in setting the Organized Retail Crime (ORC) Loss Prevention Strategy to include technology, field partnership and detection technology

  • Develop partnerships with outside law enforcement agencies to ensure large cases are prosecutable

  • Research and recommend technology that assists in detecting large-scale external theft trends, including refund trends

  • Collaborate and lead surveillance with peer retailers and law enforcement related to complex external cases

  • Drive consensus across all levels of the organization and through Corporate and Field stakeholders

  • Collaborate with Corporate, Field and Internal team stakeholders to identify short-term and long-term needs related to communication, reporting and technologies to drive Investigations team strategy

  • Lead and assist the direction of the LP Remote Operations Center, ensuring resources are focused on the overall LP Investigations strategy and optimized for efficiency

  • Align Investigation resources across Field and Corporate to be agile and adaptive to total Company needs

  • Develop staff through coaching, performance feedback and intentional development opportunities to encourage career pathing and mobility into the future

  • Create an effective work environment by developing a common vision, setting clear objectives, expecting teamwork and maintaining open communications across departments

  • Additional tasks may be assigned


What Skills You Have

Required

  • 5+ years leading teams directly impacting internal and external investigations

  • Experience with effectively negotiating and influencing Law Enforcement agencies

  • Exceptional verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills

  • Strong analytical skills

Preferred

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Field Loss Prevention leadership experience

  • Experience with retail and consumer products

  • Ability to learn new software applications with minimal training
