Description
The Senior Quality Manager for Safco Products is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring regulatory compliance, and leading Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) initiatives. This role supports operational excellence in a manufacturing environment focused on office furniture, storage solutions, and custom-built products by driving continuous improvement, reducing risk, and ensuring product and workplace safety.
This position reports to the Director of Operations and is located in New Hope, MN.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead the organization's Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance with applicable quality standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations.
  • Develop and execute quality strategies that improve product quality, operational performance, and customer satisfaction.
  • Establish, monitor, and report key quality performance metrics, driving corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead internal, external, customer, and supplier audits, ensuring timely resolution of findings and ongoing certification compliance.
  • Partner with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and Product Management to integrate quality throughout product development, manufacturing, and delivery.
  • Provide leadership for supplier quality programs, including supplier performance, corrective actions, and incoming quality processes.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and standards.
  • Oversee Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programs to promote a safe workplace and support sustainability initiatives.
  • Lead investigations into quality and safety issues, utilizing root cause analysis and preventive actions to reduce risk and improve performance.
  • Build and develop a high-performing Quality, regulatory and EHS team while fostering a culture of quality, accountability, safety, and continuous improvement across the organization.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership by providing insights, recommendations, and reporting on quality, compliance, and operational performance.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Environmental Health & Safety, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of leadership experience in quality within a manufacturing environment, including responsibility for developing teams and leading cross-functional initiatives.
  • Experience leading Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programs.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems, continuous improvement methodologies, and regulatory compliance.
  • Demonstrated success building collaborative partnerships across Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and other business functions to improve quality and operational performance.
  • Proven ability to influence leaders, drive organizational change, and foster a culture of quality, safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience leading audits, regulatory compliance activities, and structured problem-solving initiatives.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, strategic thinking, and project management skills.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
  • Experience with ANSI/BIFMA, UL, or other applicable product compliance standards.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or Lean Six Sigma certification.
  • Experience supporting new product introduction, supplier quality, or multi-site manufacturing operations.

C O MPENSATION & BENEFITS
The starting base salary range for this position is $134,155 - $167,694 per year. The compensation posted is the anticipated pay for the position at the time of the posting. We may pay above or below posted amount based on several factors, including, but not limited to education and/or certifications, skills, experience, or work location. Some positions may qualify for additional compensation in the form of bonuses.
