Description The Community and Economic Development (CED) CED Project Manager is responsible for assisting with planning, coordinating, and implementing economic development initiatives that support business growth, redevelopment, investment, job creation, and community vitality within the City of Maplewood. The CED Project Manager is responsible for supporting CED in advancing economic development efforts. This role manages complex projects, administers business assistance programs, supports redevelopment efforts, and helps attract, retain, and expand businesses throughout the community.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist in coordinating business outreach through the Business Retention, Expansion and Attraction (BRE&A) Program to help strengthen relationships and identify business needs. Assist in facilitating business recruitment efforts targeting industries and employers aligned with Maplewood's economic development objectives.

Coordinate business assistance programs, grants, loans, incentives, and redevelopment tools. Assist with coordination of Accela software to assure a positive experience for developers and businesses Assist with redevelopment and economic development projects from concept through completion. Assist with the implementation of the Maplewood Economic Development Strategic Plan.

Assist in conducting market research and economic analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges. Maintain marketing material for business and developer attraction. Support initiatives related to commercial redevelopment, business district revitalization, housing, workforce development, and entrepreneurship.

Identify and pursue funding opportunities including grants and public-private partnerships. Assist in building and maintaining productive relationships with businesses, chambers of commerce, educational institutions, nonprofit organizations, and regional economic development partners. Facilitate stakeholder engagement and public outreach efforts related to economic development projects and initiatives.

Assist with coordinating with regional organizations and governmental agencies to leverage resources and partnerships. Track economic development metrics, project outcomes, and program performance. Prepare and manage budgets related to economic development programs and projects.

Maintain accurate records, databases, and project documentation. Coordinate the CED website to ensure accurate and timely information is shared by all CED Divisions and that the website reinforces an attractive marketing tool. Manage special projects and events related to development forums, developer tours, and business engagement.

Serves as the city lead for the coordination of economic development programs such as the Housing Rehab Program and other similar programs as assigned.
