Overview:
Sentara Health Plans is hiring for a Market Development and Outreach Specialist - Remote in Roanoke, VA!
Position Status: Full-time, permanent (40 hours/week)
Position Location: This is a remote position based Roanoke, Virginia. The role includes travel of up to approximately 3 to 4 days per week in Halifax, Roanoke, Southwest Virginia, and the surrounding area. Use of personal vehicle required. Eligible for reimbursement for travel and lodging.
Standard Working Hours: 8 AM to 5 PM EST, M-F; Will include occasional weekends/as needed.
Overview
  • The Community Outreach Coordinator is a community development and member outreach role, responsible for a geographic area generating millions of dollars in annual revenue.
  • Creates marketplace opportunities to showcase Sentara Family Care's programs and services for Medicaid beneficiaries, advocates, and community leaders.
  • Initiates and develops community activities that drive membership growth or retention.
  • Initiates grass-roots stakeholder development in support of SFC goals.
  • Provides on-site management of events.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in understanding, analyzing, and articulating complex issues in the Medicaid program or in the community, including emerging health care issues.
  • Use of personal vehicle required.

Education
  • BLD - Bachelor's Level Degree REQUIRED

Certification/Licensure
  • None required

Experience
  • CRM Database- Previous Experience, eg. Salesforce REQUIRED
  • Customer Service- 3 years REQUIRED
  • Public Relations - 3 years REQUIRED
  • Outreach and Advocacy- 3 years REQUIRED
