The Opportunity

Ready to take ownership of a major international sales territory while working with highly specialized products used in the aviation and transportation industry?

Our client is seeking an experienced Area Sales Manager to own and grow customer relationships throughout North and South America. This is a high-impact, consultative sales role combining business development, key account management, technical product knowledge, project leadership, market analysis, and full-cycle sales ownership.

The organization develops specialized electrically insulating technical laminates, polymer composite materials, decorative laminate films, and prepregs, including products used in the design and construction of aircraft passenger cabins.

The ideal candidate enjoys building long-term customer relationships but is equally energized by identifying new customers, projects, and market opportunities. You'll serve as a critical link between customers and internal teams while influencing projects from initial opportunity through quotation, negotiation, and contract completion.

What You'll Do

  • Manage and strengthen relationships with key customers throughout the Americas.
  • Drive new customer and project acquisition to expand market presence.
  • Own the entire sales cycle, from opportunity identification and quotation preparation through negotiation and contract conclusion.
  • Serve as a central communication point between customers and internal teams regarding projects, delivery timelines, priorities, and potential bottlenecks.
  • Lead and coordinate customer-facing design projects.
  • Develop a strong technical understanding of the product portfolio and confidently translate technical capabilities into customer solutions.
  • Prepare sales budgets, forecasts, analyses, and pricing calculations.
  • Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitive developments to uncover new opportunities.
  • Prepare and review customer quotations in partnership with Customer Service.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales Management, Customer Service, Quality, Logistics, Purchasing, and other key stakeholders.
  • Travel approximately one-third of the time throughout the territory; occasional international travel may be required.

What We're Looking For

  • 3–5+ years of experience in a similar sales, account management, or business development position.
  • Strong preference for candidates with experience in the aviation, aerospace, transportation, technical laminates, composite materials, engineered materials, or a closely related specialized industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage strategic customer relationships while also developing new business.
  • Experience navigating technical or engineered products and working cross-functionally with operational and technical teams.
  • Strong commercial instincts, including experience with pricing, quotations, forecasting, and sales analysis.
  • Excellent customer orientation and communication skills.
  • Highly organized, structured, accurate, and comfortable managing multiple customer projects simultaneously.
  • Strong process understanding and ability to independently move opportunities forward.
  • Solid Microsoft Office skills; SAP experience is a plus.

Location & Travel

The preferred candidate will be based near Harrisburg, Oregon and work primarily onsite alongside the existing Sales Manager.

However, the team is willing to consider remote candidates located elsewhere in North America when they bring highly relevant industry experience and a specialized knowledge base that would allow them to quickly make an impact.

Candidates should be comfortable traveling approximately 33% of the time. The primary territory encompasses North and South America, with occasional international travel as business needs arise.

Why This Role?

This is an opportunity to join an internationally active organization and take ownership of a strategically important territory. You'll have significant visibility across the business, direct influence on customer projects and commercial outcomes, and the opportunity to grow into greater leadership responsibility.

The company also offers professional development and training opportunities, a collaborative international team environment, laptop and mobile phone, and flexibility to work from home when appropriate.

If you're a relationship-driven sales professional who understands how to sell highly specialized technical products and wants a role where you can directly influence growth across the Americas, we'd love to hear from you.
