Purpose
Oversee and manage LiDAR and UAS projects from initiation to completion. Identify new business opportunities, develop proposals, and build and maintenance client relations.
Responsibilities
Leadership and Direction
  • Receive broad guidance from senior-level management relating to overall key objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters and general parameters for execution. Manage people and processes to ensure effective execution. Review work produced by staff for quality assurance.

At the Operational and Company Level
  • Assist with the marketing of the firm's capabilities to establish new clients and enhance relationships.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and team members to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the client's satisfaction.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, develop proposals, and build and maintain client relationships.

Do the Work
  • Oversee and manage LiDAR and UAS projects from initiation to completion.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, including schedules, budgets, resource allocation, and risk assessments.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to project team members.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure project milestones are achieved.
  • Ensure quality control standards are met and adhere to industry best practices.
  • Train and mentor team members on LiDAR and UAS best practices and technologies.
  • Stay up to date with UAS regulations, best practices, and emerging technologies.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop marketing materials and strategies.
  • Participate in industry conferences or events as a guest speaker or panelist to share insights and expertise.
  • Create and maintain a social media presence to showcase the company's LiDAR and UAS projects and engage with potential clients and collaborators.
  • Lead internal company initiatives focused on sustainability or social responsibility, such as identifying opportunities to use LiDAR and UAS technologies for environmental monitoring or disaster relief efforts.
  • Explore new and innovative applications for LiDAR and UAS technologies, such as using drones equipped with LiDAR sensors for wildlife tracking or mapping archaeological sites.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in geomatics, surveying, engineering, or a related field.
  • Eight or more (8+) years of work experience, preferably directly on LiDAR and UAS projects, with three or more (3+) years of project management experience, including technical oversight and business development.
  • Strong understanding of LiDAR and UAS technologies, applications, and best practices.
  • Experience with LiDAR data processing software, such as TerraSolid, LP360, or Global Mapper.
  • Experience with project management software, such as Microsoft Project, Asana, or Trello.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and standards related to LiDAR and UAS projects.
  • UAS pilot license or certification.
  • Knowledge of remote sensing technologies and applications.
  • Experience in business development and sales.
