JOB SUMMARY: The Technical Project Manager serves as a key liaison between Manufacturing Engineering, the Project Management Office (PMO), and Field Execution teams to support the successful delivery of cross-functional projects. This role is responsible for driving project visibility, coordination, and execution across new product development, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), manufacturing readiness, and customer implementation efforts for both Amazon and Diversified Customer Accounts (DCA).
The ideal candidate will possess a strong combination of project management expertise, manufacturing engineering knowledge, and field execution experience. This individual will manage portfolio tracking activities, support project prioritization, monitor risk and issue management, and ensure alignment between engineering, manufacturing, and installation schedules. Strong communication, organization, and analytical skills are essential for success in this highly collaborative role.
This position is remote with required travel one week per month to the Port Clinton, OH facility. Travel expenses are paid by the company.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES amp; RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Project amp; Portfolio Management
  • Assist in defining project scope, objectives, timelines, and deliverables in collaboration with senior project managers and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Coordinate project activities from ideation and engineering release through manufacturing startup and field execution.
  • Manage portfolio tracking activities, including project intake, prioritization support, milestone tracking, and risk register management.
  • Monitor project schedules, dependencies, and deliverables to ensure alignment with broader program timelines and organizational objectives.
  • Support stage gate tracking and reporting for new product development initiatives.
Cross-Functional Coordination amp; Communication
  • Serve as a liaison between Manufacturing Engineering, PMO, and Field Execution teams to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Coordinate activities across departments to support project alignment, issue resolution, and successful execution.
  • Prepare and communicate project updates, presentations, dashboards, and status reports for leadership and stakeholders.
  • Translate complex technical and operational issues into actionable plans and clearly communicate priorities and next steps.
Technical amp; Operational Support
  • Provide technical guidance and support related to manufacturing engineering processes, PMO standards, and field execution activities.
  • Support manufacturing and installation teams by identifying operational challenges and assisting with resolution efforts.
  • Directly lead and support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) activities for Amazon and Diversified Customer Accounts (DCA).
  • Assist in ensuring engineering, manufacturing, and installation readiness throughout project execution.
Documentation amp; Reporting
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including schedules, meeting minutes, action items, status reports, and project records.
  • Track project risks, issues, and mitigation plans while ensuring visibility to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Develop and maintain reporting tools and documentation to support portfolio visibility and decision-making.
Process Improvement
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and support implementation of best practices to improve project efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across project management, manufacturing engineering, and field execution processes.
  • Contribute to the development and standardization of PMO tools, templates, and workflows.

QUALIFICATIONS amp; REQUIRMENTS:
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles, methodologies, and tools.
  • Experience using project management software such as Microsoft Project, Microsoft Teams, and Smartsheet.
  • Technical expertise in manufacturing engineering processes with 3–5 years of relevant experience.
  • Technical expertise in material handling installation and field execution with 2–3 years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Project management certification such as CAPM or PMP preferred.
  • Experience in material handling, manufacturing, automation, or related industries preferred.
EDUCATION amp; EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
  • 8–10 years of combined experience in manufacturing, engineering, project management, or related operational environments.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 15 pounds.
  • Ability to move throughout office and manufacturing environments as needed.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment is a professional office setting within a manufacturing environment. Employees regularly interact with both office personnel and shop floor operations. While on the shop floor, employees may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and varying noise levels. Temperatures within manufacturing areas may fluctuate based on seasonal weather conditions.
