Description
HealthCare Alliance Group LLC, an innovative, full-service medical communications company, is seeking an Associate Medical Editor to join our team. In this role, you will copyedit, proofread, and fact-check scientific and medical materials to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to AMA style. You'll work closely with our internal teams to support high-quality deliverables across a range of medical communication projects.
Candidates with strong editorial skills are encouraged to apply, including recent graduates. Medical editing experience is preferred but not required-we provide training to help the right person grow in the medical communications field. We're looking for someone eager to learn, adaptable, and open to taking on greater editorial responsibility over time.
The corporate office is located in Voorhees, New Jersey, just outside Philadelphia. This role is fully remote.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Copyedit, proofread, and fact-check a wide range of medical and scientific materials, including advisory board slide decks, product theater presentations, executive and express summaries, KOL engagement materials, on-site materials, and more.
  • Apply AMA Manual of Style (11th edition or current) consistently and rigorously to ensure grammatical accuracy, proper medical terminology, reference formatting, nomenclature, and stylistic consistency across all materials.
  • Support the Medical, Legal, and Regulatory (MLR) review process by preparing digital files, organizing reference materials, and uploading assets into the Veeva Vault management system.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers to upload assets to Veeva, incorporate feedback, resolve queries, and deliver final polished deliverables on time.
  • Ensure all edited content aligns with internal guidelines and client/brand preferences.
  • Track editorial timelines, communicate status updates, and escalate issues as needed to meet project deadlines.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences, journalism, English, communications, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in editing, preferably within a biotechnology, medical communications, or healthcare setting.
  • Strong understanding of AMA style.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, grammar, punctuation, and ability to enhance clarity and flow while preserving scientific meaning and intent.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and tight deadlines in a collaborative team setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Medical editing experience preferred.
  • Experience with Veeva Vault (or similar regulatory/medical content management systems) preferred.
