Job Title: Supplier Project Engineer, Supply Chain

Position Type: Contract

Duration: 12 Months with Possible Extension

Position Overview

System One is seeking a Supplier Project Engineer to support Supply Chain activities for a large-scale advanced energy project. This role is responsible for managing supplier performance, technical integration, and project execution in partnership with Contract Administration and Engineering teams. The Supplier Project Engineer will provide oversight of supplier activities throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring contract requirements, technical expectations, schedules, and deliverables are successfully achieved.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary project management interface for supplier performance, oversight, and execution activities.

• Apply project management principles to monitor supplier cost, schedule, deliverables, risks, and resource allocation.

• Collaborate closely with technical, commercial, and supply chain teams to ensure compliance with contractual and technical requirements.

• Develop Statements of Work (SOWs), project plans, and supplier execution strategies to support program objectives.

• Support supplier selection activities, including Requests for Proposal (RFPs), bid evaluations, supplier assessments, and award recommendations.

• Provide direction and oversight of supplier projects to ensure contract deliverables are completed on schedule and within scope.

• Manage technical interfaces between suppliers and internal engineering teams.

• Support contract administration and commercial activities necessary for successful project execution.

• Coordinate supplier submittals and technical reviews, ensuring timely evaluation, disposition, and response to supplier deliverables.

• Maintain awareness of supplier capabilities, organizational changes, and performance trends to support continuous supplier improvement.

• Conduct supplier oversight activities through scheduled and as-needed visits to supplier facilities.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Nuclear, Systems, Civil Engineering, or related technical discipline.

• Minimum 10 years of supplier oversight, supplier management, or project management experience.

• Experience developing Statements of Work (SOWs), Requests for Proposal (RFPs), and managing supplier deliverables.

• Demonstrated experience supporting supplier relationships in engineering, manufacturing, or highly regulated industries.

• Experience interfacing with engineering teams to support supplier technical reviews and project execution.

• Strong understanding of project controls, project planning, and supplier management processes.

• Experience supporting contractual and commercial aspects of customer-supplier relationships.

• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• PMP Certification or equivalent project management training.

• 3–5 years of manufacturing oversight experience.

• Knowledge of manufacturing travelers, welding processes, fabrication, and quality requirements.

• Broad understanding of mechanical, electrical, nuclear, and multidisciplinary engineering principles.

• Experience supporting complex engineering, energy, nuclear, or industrial projects.
