Job description

Role Overview:
This role focuses on the design, implementation, and management of VMware Tanzu and Kubernetes environments. Key responsibilities include overseeing the deployment, scaling, and containerization of applications within Kubernetes, monitoring system performance, and providing technical support. The administrator will also be involved in troubleshooting complex system issues and collaborating with development teams to ensure seamless application integration.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyzes performance data to provide capacity planning and resource utilization information in support of operational and budget planning processes.
  • Analyzes, plans, tests, documents and implements regular, advanced or special maintenance activities of system hardware and software to meet service level agreements with user groups.
  • Leads, coaches and mentors other team members on technical matters, project management, task prioritization, and strategic planning.
  • Participates in cross-functional project teams, providing subject matter expertise and ensuring that new system objects are supported by developing administrative procedures.

Required Skills:
  • Design, implement, and manage VMware Tanzu environments.
  • Oversee the deployment, scaling, and management of Kubernetes clusters.
  • Containerize existing applications and ensure seamless integration into Kubernetes environments.
  • Monitor system performance and implement improvements for efficiency and scalability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Tanzu and Kubernetes environments.
  • Work closely with development teams to support application deployment and integration.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members and stakeholders.
  • Experience with vRA Pipelines & NSX/AVI load Balancers.
  • Experience with Scripting languages suchs as PowerShell, YAML, Python & Ansible.
  • Experience with Datadog Monitoring, Flux, Helmcharts.
  • Experience with server, desktop, and application virtualization technologies.
  • Understanding of SDLC and application architecture.
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting system problems in complex, heterogeneous systems.
  • Using diagnostic, monitoring, problem and change management tools.
  • Leading product evaluations, planning, gathering requirements, testing, recommending and implementing solutions.
  • Experience with Cloud computing.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve issues.
  • Ready to work in a 24*7 environment.
  • Firewall (ASA / Palo Alto) NAT, Policy creation, object-group & Firmware Upgrade.

Qualifications:
  • Relevant certifications in VMware and Kubernetes are highly desirable.
