Remote Product Operations information

What is remote product operations?

Remote Product Operations refer to the process of managing and optimizing the workflows, tools, and communication involved in developing, launching, and maintaining products, all from a remote or distributed work environment. Professionals in this role act as a bridge between product managers, engineering, and other teams to ensure smooth product lifecycle execution, even when teams are not co-located. They focus on streamlining processes, tracking key metrics, and facilitating collaboration across time zones and geographies. This role is increasingly important as more companies adopt remote or hybrid work models.

How does a remote product operations professional typically collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product development?

As a Remote Product Operations professional, you’ll frequently work with product managers, engineers, designers, and customer support teams to streamline workflows and ensure that projects stay on track. Daily tasks often involve coordinating virtual meetings, maintaining documentation, gathering feedback, and tracking key performance metrics. Effective communication and strong organizational skills are essential, as you’ll serve as a bridge between various teams to identify bottlenecks and drive process improvements. While working remotely, leveraging digital tools for collaboration and information sharing is crucial to maintaining alignment and momentum across dispersed teams.

What key skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a remote product operations professional, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Product Operations professional, you need a solid understanding of product lifecycle management, data analysis, and project coordination, often supported by a degree in business, engineering, or a related field. Familiarity with tools like Jira, Asana, product analytics platforms, and collaboration software such as Slack or Zoom is typically required. Outstanding communication, problem-solving abilities, and self-motivation are essential soft skills for remote teamwork and efficient operations. These skills and qualities enable seamless product development, effective cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to drive projects forward in a distributed work environment.

Axyde Analytics seeks a senior Program/Product Manager to serve as proposed Key Personnel for a federal data, analytics, and artificial-intelligence platform. The selected candidate’s résumé may be included in Axyde’s competitive proposal.

This position will become Axyde’s principal technical and administrative representative to the Government if awarded. The individual will lead transition, delivery, staffing, risk management, quality, schedule, customer coordination, and ongoing platform operations.

Responsibilities
  • Direct technical and administrative performance across the engagement.

  • Serve as the primary interface with the Government’s Contracting Officer’s Representative.

  • Lead a six-to-twelve-month platform transition.

  • Coordinate AWS architecture, data integration, analytics, AI, security, operations, and user-support teams.

  • Maintain the integrated schedule, staffing plan, risk register, transition plan, and acceptance criteria.

  • Oversee configuration management, software quality assurance, change control, cybersecurity, and ATO activities.

  • Ensure all contract tasks, deliverables, milestones, and performance standards are addressed.

  • Manage continuity as staffing and requirements change.

  • Support proposal development, oral presentations, technical demonstrations, and post-award mobilization.

Mandatory Qualifications
  • U.S. citizen.

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 10 years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree and at least five years of relevant experience.

  • Senior experience in one or more applicable fields, including software delivery, data analytics, data engineering, cloud architecture, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, product management, or technical program management.

  • Demonstrated responsibility for a complex federal or regulated data-platform implementation.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Ability to provide a proposal-ready résumé immediately.

Preferred Qualifications
  • PMP or comparable program-management credential.

  • DOE, NNSA, national laboratory, nuclear-security-enterprise, or other federal experience.

  • AWS data-platform and generative-AI delivery experience.

  • Experience leading ATO, FedRAMP, NIST SP 800-53, CUI, or sensitive-data implementations.

Engagement

Remote within the United States, with occasional travel to the Washington, D.C. area and Government sites. Proposal participation is immediate. Long-term employment or consulting engagement is contingent upon contract award. No current clearance is required, but the candidate must be capable of obtaining a DOE/NNSA Q clearance if subsequently required.
