What You'll Do:

The Product Marketing Specialist is an early-career marketing professional who serves as the primary internal resource supporting the Product Marketing function within the Marketing & Communications organization. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Marketing & Communications and Head of Product Marketing, who is responsible for the company's Product Marketing strategy, positioning, messaging, and sales enablement, this role helps transform technical capabilities into compelling customer-focused messaging, sales enablement materials, and product marketing assets that support business growth.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work directly with the executive responsible for Product Marketing, providing hands-on mentorship and experience across every stage of the product marketing lifecycle-from market understanding and positioning to messaging, sales enablement, go-to-market planning, and product launch support.

As the primary internal resource dedicated to product marketing development and sales enablement, the Product Marketing Specialist works closely with the Vice President, Product Management, Business Development, and technical subject matter experts to develop product messaging, customer-facing collateral, executive presentations, and other marketing assets that clearly communicate the value of SES Space & Defense solutions to government and defense customers.

The Product Marketing Specialist also partners closely with the company's project-based creative agencies, translating product marketing strategy into creative requirements while ensuring agency-developed deliverables align with approved messaging, positioning, and SES corporate brand standards, including typography, templates, icons, visual elements, and design guidelines. While this role contributes to the development of presentations and marketing assets, it works within established brand standards and collaborates with agency designers rather than creating new brand concepts or visual identities.

This role is designed for an ambitious marketing professional seeking to build a career in Product Marketing while working directly with senior marketing leadership and gaining experience in product positioning, messaging, sales enablement, go-to-market planning, and agency collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

Product Marketing Strategy & Messaging

  • Support the Vice President in executing the company's Product Marketing strategy.
  • Partner with Product Management, Business Development, and technical subject matter experts to understand solution capabilities, customer challenges, and competitive differentiators.
  • Develop product positioning, messaging, and customer value propositions.
  • Translate technical capabilities into clear business and mission outcomes for government and defense audiences.

Sales Enablement & Product Communications

  • Develop and maintain customer-facing product marketing and sales enablement materials.
  • Support customer engagements, proposal efforts, conferences, and product launches.
  • Ensure all customer-facing materials are accurate, current, and aligned with approved messaging and positioning.

Agency Collaboration & Brand Stewardship

  • Collaborate with project-based creative agencies to develop customer-facing marketing assets.
  • Translate product marketing requirements into clear creative briefs and provide project direction, reviews, and feedback throughout project execution.
  • Ensure all deliverables leverage approved SES corporate brand guidelines.
  • Develop presentations and supporting graphics while partnering with agency designers on creative execution.

Product Marketing Operations

  • Maintain the organization's library of product marketing and sales enablement assets.
  • Manage version control and coordinate collateral updates as products evolve.
  • Ensure customer-facing materials remain accurate, current, and consistent.
  • Organize assets for efficient use by Marketing, Sales, and Business Development.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Product Management, Business Development, Sales, Marketing, and technical subject matter experts throughout the product marketing lifecycle.
  • Serve as the Marketing & Communications lead for Product Marketing content development and agency-supported product marketing initiatives.
Who You Are:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Journalism, English, Graphic Design, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of professional experience in product marketing, marketing, communications, content development, or a related role.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and presentation development skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate technical concepts into clear customer value propositions and marketing content.
  • Experience developing executive presentations, sales enablement materials, and customer-facing collateral.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint and Word.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, including Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Acrobat.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and collaboration skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Nice if you have:

  • Experience supporting B2B technology, satellite communications, aerospace, telecommunications, defense, or government organizations.
  • Experience working with Product Management and supporting product launches.
  • Experience developing product positioning, messaging, or sales enablement materials.
  • Experience collaborating with external creative agencies.
  • Familiarity with WordPress or other content management systems.
  • Experience developing technical diagrams, infographics, or visual storytelling assets.
  • Experience using AI productivity tools to accelerate research, content development, and presentation creation.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Exceptional written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
  • Strong presentation development and business storytelling abilities.
  • Curiosity and the ability to quickly learn complex technologies and markets.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Professional judgment with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • A collaborative mindset and passion for building a career in Product Marketing.
