Job description

This position will oversee, coordinate, and execute initiative to guarantee the success of the product line. The position will focus on the entire product lifecycle, from concept and development to launch and ongoing improvement. Product Managers define the product vision and strategy, prioritizing features, working with cross-functional teams, and ensuring the product meets market needs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Execute the overall innovation and new product development effort for the product line.
  • Conduct VOC and field evaluation research to generate concepts for innovation.
  • Create multi-generational product plans and validate concepts for development through VOC efforts.
  • Executes efforts to develop new products in this category.
  • Work closely with various departments, including R&D, operations, supply chain, sales, and customer support. Act as a bridge between these teams to ensure everyone is aligned with the product goals.
  • Drive consensus and prioritization process to provide sustained long-term growth for the product line.
  • Maintains knowledge on emerging products and services.
  • Ensure product line resources and information is current and accurate.
  • Forecasts, drafts, implements, and oversees the product line's operating budget.
  • Designates and oversees code requirements and certifications.
  • Manage sustainability focused initiatives and required certifications.
  • Manage and develop the Product Specialist for the product line
  • Support efforts from international divisions to grow the product line.
  • Participate in industry associations for the product line, including holding positions of influence on the Board or in committees.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field required. A master's degree is preferred.
  • At least five years of experience in marketing/product marketing and long-range planning required.
  • PDMA certification is preferred for new product development managers.
  • Building material industry and channel experience preferred
