Remote Plastic Bottle Manufacturing information

What is remote plastic bottle manufacturing?

Remote plastic bottle manufacturing refers to overseeing, managing, or coordinating the production of plastic bottles from a remote location, typically using digital tools and communication platforms. This can involve roles such as quality assurance, production planning, supply chain management, or technical support, all performed off-site. With advancements in automation and monitoring technology, many aspects of manufacturing can now be managed remotely, helping companies increase efficiency and flexibility while reducing the need for on-site personnel.

What are some common challenges faced by remote plastic bottle manufacturing professionals, and how can they be addressed?

One common challenge in remote plastic bottle manufacturing roles is maintaining effective communication and coordination with on-site production teams to ensure quality and timely delivery. Remote workers may also face difficulties in monitoring machinery performance and troubleshooting issues without physical presence. These challenges can be addressed by leveraging advanced digital monitoring tools, regularly scheduled virtual meetings, and clear documentation protocols. Building strong relationships with on-site staff and staying updated on production processes are also essential for success in this role.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in remote plastic bottle manufacturing, and why are they important?

To thrive in Remote Plastic Bottle Manufacturing, you need a solid understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control, and safety standards, often supported by a background in industrial engineering or manufacturing technology. Familiarity with CAD/CAM software, automated production systems, and quality assurance tools is typically required. Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and effective communication are valuable soft skills for remote coordination and troubleshooting. These competencies ensure efficient production, adherence to safety and quality standards, and seamless teamwork in a distributed work environment.

Job description

Master Data Specialist - Remote
Infrastructure Products Group
Atlanta, Georgia, United States
Job ID: 524827
CRH Americas Building Products is reinventing what's possible in building solutions. We are the leading provider of innovative outdoor living products and utility infrastructure solutions for the water, energy, and communications markets throughout North America. We're a trusted and strategic partner to engineers, contractors, distributors, specifiers, retailers and homeowners alike as the manufacturer of precast concrete, polymer concrete, and plastic infrastructure products. Our portfolio of brands includes Oldcastle APG, Oldcastle Infrastructure, Belgard® hardscape, Echelon® Masonry, RDI® railing, Catalyst™ Fence Solutions, Sakrete® packaged concrete, Amerimix® mortar, Pebble Technology International® pool finishes, and Techniseal® sands and sealant technologies.
Job Summary
Oldcastle Infrastructure (OI), as part of CRH's Infrastructure Products Group (IPG), is a global manufacturing leader of utility infrastructure products. Our goal is to be the most efficient producer of engineered systems and our customers' strategic partner of choice. A crucial part of OI's journey is the investment in a new ERP system. With a modern, common platform, OI will unlock the benefits of its scale, deliver a better customer experience, and build a foundation for continuous process improvement.
We are seeking a Master Data Management (MDM) Specialist to support both ongoing ERP conversion initiatives and steady-state master data governance in a dynamic, manufacturing-focused environment.
This role is ideal for a business-minded SAP professional who understands how master data drives operational execution - not just how to enter it. You will partner with business SMEs, technical teams, and data leadership to construct, analyze, migrate, and maintain high-quality master data within SAP S/4HANA.
Depending on experience and business needs, this role will focus on one primary domain:
• Material Management
• Business Partner (Customer/Vendor/Employee)
Our team operates in a hybrid model of recurring conversion waves (every ~90 days) and continuous process improvement initiatives. This role flexes between implementation-focused work and operational MDM support.
Job Location
  • This role will be remote based in the US with periodic heavy domestic travel.

Job Responsibilities
ERP Conversion & Data Construction
  • Partner with business process owners and SMEs to define and validate master data requirements
  • Construct, transform, and validate master data using Excel prior to SAP upload
  • Prepare and manage SAP migration templates (Migration Cockpit, LSMW)
  • Perform analytical data review to identify patterns, inconsistencies, and structural issues
  • Support recurring conversion waves and implementation cycles
  • Assist in hyper-care during go-live and blackout periods

Master Data Governance (Run & Maintain)
  • Create and maintain master data in SAP S/4HANA (Fiori and GUI)
  • Support future implementation of SAP MDG governance processes
  • Monitor data quality and identify root causes of defects
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to improve master data processes
  • Support business users during hyper-care and steady-state operations

Job Requirements
  • At least 3-5 years of experience working with SAP master data (2+ years considered with strong background)
  • Hands-on experience in either:
    • Material Master (MM) in a manufacturing environment
    • Business Partner (Customer/Vendor) master data
  • Experience supporting an ERP implementation or migration
  • Experience constructing and transforming data in Excel for SAP upload
  • Working knowledge of SAP table structures related to MM or BP
  • Strong understanding of how master data impacts manufacturing, supply chain, or order-to-cash processes
  • Preferred Experience:
    • SAP S/4HANA experience
    • Experience with mass uploads and record creation
    • Exposure to SAP MDG
    • Manufacturing experience (Make-to-Order or Engineer-to-Order environments preferred)
  • Thinks analytically about data structures and patterns
  • Understands business context behind master data
  • Can translate between business SMEs and technical teams
  • Identifies root causes instead of correcting records one at a time
  • Is comfortable working in Excel to construct structured datasets
  • Operates well in a fast-moving, wave-based implementation model

Compensation
  • Salary range of $90,000 to $105,000/year
  • 10% annual bonus target
  • 401(k) plan / group retirement savings program
  • Short-term and long-term disability benefits
  • Life insurance
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Paid time off
  • Paid holidays

What CRH Offers You
  • Highly competitive base pay
  • Comprehensive medical, dental and disability benefits programs
  • Group retirement savings program
  • Health and wellness programs
  • An inclusive culture that values opportunity for growth, development, and internal promotion
