Summary of Role
LOCATION: Denver, CO. Hybrid with in-office requirements.
The HR Generalist is an important addition to AdCellerant's People Operations team, a high-performing department supporting ~200 employees across 25+ U.S. states and international entities. Reporting to the Director of People Operations and Administration, this role provides broad People Operations support across core functional areas, with a focused contribution to employee relations, payroll and benefits administration, hiring, and new employee onboarding. In addition to providing key support in People Ops workflows, the person in this role will provide administrative support to the broader finance team. This role requires a regular in-office presence to support office operations (Denver headquarters).
The person in this role will need to be detail-oriented, dependable, and genuinely passionate about the employee experience. They thrive in a fast-moving environment, take ownership of their work, and bring a collaborative spirit.
This is a hybrid position, requiring about 2 days per week in the Denver office or as needed to support on-site operations.
Responsibilities
Employee Relations & People Operations Support
  • Act as a knowledgeable and approachable first point of contact for general employee HR questions, directing team members to appropriate resources and escalating issues appropriately.
  • Assist the Director of People Operations with employee relations matters, documentation, and follow-up as needed.
  • Contribute to People Ops projects and initiatives including engagement programs, learning and development initiatives, policy rollouts, and training coordination.
  • Process employee changes (promotions, transfers, manager updates) accurately and in a timely manner across HRIS platforms.
  • Support HRIS data integrity through routine audits of employee records, ensuring information is current and complete.
  • Contribute to the maintenance and updating of HR SOPs, internal wikis, and policy documentation.
  • Assist with offboarding workflows, ensuring timely system updates, access removal, and documentation completion.
  • Maintain compliance documentation including I-9s, eVerify, and relevant payroll/benefits records. Assist with multi-state compliance tasks including labor law poster updates, etc.
  • Provide regular administrative support to the broader finance team, including basic invoice entry and reviews.

Payroll & Benefits Support
  • Assist the Payroll and Benefits Specialist with semi-monthly U.S. payroll processing, including data entry, pre-processing audits, and deduction verification. Provide back up and coverage for Payroll processing as needed.
  • Support the leave of absence administration process, including tracking leave timelines, coordinating documentation, and communicating with employees.
  • Reconcile payroll reports, flag discrepancies, and maintain accurate documentation across employee records.
  • Assist with new hire benefits enrollments, qualifying life event (QLE) processing, and termination-related benefits coordination.
  • Support benefits billing reconciliation, audit preparation, and open enrollment logistics.

Hiring Coordination & Recruiting Support
  • Lead hiring coordination, facilitating post-selection handoff from the recruiting team, preparing offer packets, and completing new hire paperwork.
  • Manage the onboarding experience for new hires, including system setup and orientation coordination.
  • Partner with the People Operations Specialist to support recruiting efforts as needed, including sourcing, scheduling with candidates, and conducting first round interviews as needed. We anticipate that this role will provide meaningful backup for the recruiting function during strategic seasons.

Requirements
  • Must be able to report to the Denver office regularly to support on-site operations
  • 2-4 years of experience in an HR or People Operations role preferred; 1+ years experience managing employee relations.
  • Familiarity with HRIS platforms and ability to quickly master new systems
  • Ability to support payroll processes or benefits administration; hands-on experience with payroll systems strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of HR compliance fundamentals, including multi-state employment considerations
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy - especially in payroll-related tasks
  • Proficient with Google Suite; comfortable with Excel functions and data reconciliation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional, approachable style
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and sound judgment
  • Self-directed and organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Location Information
This role is required to be located near our Denver, CO office, with hybrid work from home flexibility.
Team members must live and work in the United States* (*territories excluded), and have access to reliable, high-speed internet.
Compensation
Annual base salary range: $62,000 - $68,000 depending on experience
