Join Our Team – Remote Part-Time Medical Coding Opportunities!


Sierra7 is seeking experienced, certified Remote Part-Time Medical Coders to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). We are hiring for multiple specialties, including:

  • Outpatient Medical Coders
  • Inpatient Medical Coders
  • Professional Fee (ProFee) Coders
  • Surgery Coders
  • Medical Coding Auditors

These are flexible, remote positions for coding professionals who can commit to a minimum of 20 hours per week while helping provide quality healthcare support to our nation's Veterans.


Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, E/M, and applicable modifiers in accordance with VA and CMS guidelines.
  • Review and code medical records while maintaining a minimum 95% coding quality score.
  • Ensure compliance with all VA privacy, security, and HIPAA requirements.
  • Perform coding duties within your area of expertise, including outpatient, inpatient, surgery, professional fee, or auditing.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of professional medical coding experience in your specialty.
  • A minimum of 6 months of recent VA medical coding experience as a Department of Veterans Affairs employee or with a government contractor supporting the VA (required).
  • Experience using VIRR/WebVIRR (required).
  • Strong knowledge of current coding guidelines and regulations.

Required Certification:

Candidates must possess one of the following active certifications:

  • RHIA
  • RHIT
  • CCS
  • CCS-P
  • CPC
  • CPC-H
  • CIC


Important Requirement

To be considered for any of these positions, applicants must have at least 6 months of recent VA coding experience as either a Department of Veterans Affairs employee or with a government contractor supporting the VA.
