Job description

Manager, Transmission Line Engineering

Lead a team of engineers designing and delivering high-voltage electric transmission line projects (34.5 kV–765 kV) for major utility clients. This role combines technical leadership, project management, client relations, and staff development while overseeing both overhead and underground transmission systems.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of transmission line engineers.
  • Serve as technical lead on transmission line design projects.
  • Review and oversee engineering analyses, construction packages, specifications, and procurement documents.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable industry standards (NESC, ASCE, ACI, NEC).
  • Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and client relationships.
  • Support proposal development and business growth initiatives.
  • Collaborate with planning, environmental, permitting, and construction teams.
  • Drive innovation through AI, automation, and digital design technologies.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • 12+ years of experience designing high-voltage transmission systems.
  • Proficiency with PLS-CADD, POLE, TOWER, SAG10, LPILE, and/or FAD.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.


Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of supervisory experience.
  • M.S. in Structural Engineering.
  • Proven client management and business development experience.
