SAP BASIS & Oracle DBA
Role Responsibilities (Backfill Outline)
1. Operational & Daily Support
• Participate in on-call rotation and perform daily system health and backup verification checks.

• Monitor and manage ServiceNow tickets, ensuring timely triage, resolution, and escalation.
• Work within ServiceNow ITSM processes, including incident, change, and problem management.
• Provide database operational support for both SAP and non-SAP systems.

Assist development and application teams with: Oracle database space management, Performance troubleshooting and tuning
• Support Oracledb_Exporter for monitoring, metrics collection, and integrations.

2. Patch Management & Maintenance
• Plan, download, and validate quarterly Oracle patches:
o Perform impact and side-effect analysis
o Create and manage ServiceNow change requests

Provide Oracle database patching support for SAP and non-SAP landscapes.
• Execute and support OS patching activities, including:
o Post-patch system validation
o Debugging and issue resolution after system restarts

3. SAP BASIS Administration
o Deliver comprehensive SAP BASIS support, including System copies and refreshes, SAP patch management, Performance monitoring and tuning
o Support Disaster Recovery (DR) exercises, including testing and documentation.
o Address SAP security and compliance requirements aligned with organizational standards.

4. Periodic & Project-Based Activities
o Perform SAP BusinessObjects (BOBJ): Patch management, Version upgrades, Deployment activities
o Apply and maintain patches for: Oracle Enterprise Manager, Oracle Management Agents, GitLab servers
o Remediate security vulnerabilities identified by SAP, infrastructure scans, or audits across:
§ SAP systems, Oracle databases, Tomcat, BusinessObjects and reporting platforms

5. Security, Compliance & Stability
o Proactively address vulnerabilities and compliance findings from: SAP security notes, Infrastructure and application security scans
o Ensure system stability, availability, and adherence to corporate security standards.
o Collaborate with security, infrastructure, and application teams to mitigate risks.

6. Collaboration & Stakeholder Support
o Partner with: Development teams, Infrastructure and OS teams, Security and compliance stakeholders
o Provide technical guidance and operational support during upgrades, incidents, and audits.
