Job description

  • Tier One Technologies is hiring a Mainframe SUPRA Database Administrator to support our US Government client.
  • This will be a 100% remote Contract-to-Hire position.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • SELECTED CANDIDATES WITHOUT REQUIRED CLEARANCE WILL BE SUBJECT TO A FEDERAL GOVERNMENT BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION TO RECEIVE IT.

  • Provide technical support of software development and database administration using SUPRA PDM, MANTIS, COBOL, and JCL.
  • Provide technical support and consultation in the review and acceptance of deliverables related to internal platform modernization that is currently hosted on z/OS (IBM mainframe operating system).
  • Support numerous SUPRA PDM databases, maintain COBOL copybooks to coincide with database changes, manage the Total-File-Views, which are internal variable names that allow the online programmers to interact with the database files.
  • Perform directory maintenance for SUPRA PDM database files.
  • Evaluate the database environment, document their function and create diagrams of their interactions to support the platform modernization.

  • A degree from an accredited College/University in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline is preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in software development and/or related field.
  • Have prior experience working with the tools and programming languages listed below:
    • Cincom SUPRA PDM
    • Cincom MANTIS (Total-file-views)
    • COBOL
    • z/OS
    • JCL
    • Storage Management
    • MS Office/365
    • MS Windows
    • Visio
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Must be a US Citizen (no dual citizenship).
  • Must be to obtain DoD Public Trust clearance.
  • Must have lived in the United States for the past 5 years.
  • Cannot have more than 6 months travel outside the United States within the last 5 years. Military Service excluded.
