This role is one of five Computer Operations Analysts on the IT Operations team, which also includes two Computer Operations Engineers. The team is responsible for enterprise-wide job scheduling, workload automation, batch processing, and operational monitoring that supports business-critical systems and services for WoodmenLife Members.
The Computer Operations Analyst serves as a key link between application development, systems engineering, and operations, ensuring production processes run reliably, accurately, and on schedule.

What You'll Do
Key Functions
Monitor scheduled job processes to ensure business-critical work completes accurately and on time
Respond to job failures and alerts, following documented procedures and escalation paths
Identify unusual or abnormal job behavior before it impacts the business
Collaborate with internal teams to keep systems running smoothly for the organization and our members
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Review activity from previous shifts to identify follow-ups or required actions
Monitor job processes and call out errors, delays, or unexpected behavior
Communicate with teammates throughout the shift and ensure clean handoffs between shifts
Assist with requests from other teams such as special job runs, deployments, and questions
Review, update, and create documentation as processes evolve
Workload Automation & Production Support
Design and implement efficient automation solutions for Business Technology processes
Build and maintain job flows with dependencies, calendars, and scheduling criteria
Serve as scheduler for enterprise-wide, multi-platform environments
Deploy code, create and update job definitions, and run processes in multiple test environments
Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
Work closely with Systems Engineering, Application teams, and Operations staff
Serve as the Computer Operations representative on projects and cross-functional teams
Promote and enforce best practices around automation, testing, quality, and change control
Support modernization initiatives such as Control-M migration and print process improvements
Documentation, Training & Mentorship
Develop and maintain runbooks, procedures, and training materials
Mentor and support Computer Operations Technicians across all shifts
Promote consistency, operational discipline, and knowledge sharing

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Five years of experience as an Operations Technician or equivalent role in a multi-platform enterprise environment
Five years of experience using enterprise automation and monitoring tools with job dependencies
Experience supporting mainframe, Windows, and Linux platforms
Strong understanding of Job Control Language (JCL)
Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work occasional evenings or overnight shifts as needed
Ability to work in a 24x7 on-call environment
Willingness to travel less than 10 percent for training
Demonstrated Seamless, Trustworthy, Attentive, and Resourceful customer service
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with BMC Control-M
Completed LOMA Courses 3 and 4
Experience mentoring or training operations staff
Career Growth
Computer Operations Analysts may advance to Senior Computer Operations Analyst, Computer Operations Engineer, or Senior Computer Operations Engineer roles.
Operational Considerations
The department operates 24x5. New hires rotate across shifts during training, which may last several weeks to months. After training, the role is typically assigned to first shift, with occasional schedule flexibility required.
