Overview

Do you have experience expanding an organization's Project Management Office (PMO) to new clients and industries?  We are looking for a Director, Business Development Manager - PMO - who understands the critical role of PMO for our clients.  This position will be required to travel extensively with the task of expanding our PMO portfolio into new and existing markets.

Note: This is a single open position. We are advertising this role across multiple locations, but we will only hire one candidate.

Responsibilities
  • Work with leadership to understand the organization's PMO strengths and value proposition to develop strategies that result in sustainable and profitable growth.
  • Identify, develop, and secure new PMO business opportunities, leading business development initiatives end-to-end.
  • Drive the marketing of a complex PMO capabilities portfolio, acting as the primary client interface.
  • Create business cases on market options and opportunities while leading the proposal efforts including cost estimation, competition and ranking the most profitable initiatives to grow future revenue.
  • Analyze market trends and industry developments to find new opportunities and maintain a competitive edge with emerging opportunities in the High-Tech, Infrastructure, and Utility sectors.
  • Maintain strong client relationships with key clients and business partners.
  • Attend networking activities and conferences to research and connect with prospective clients.
  • Work closely with the PMO leadership team to ensure understanding of client needs and service delivery models.
  • Participate in client debriefings and distribute lessons learned to improve performance.
  • Foster and work to maintain an entrepreneurial growth culture throughout the business unit and across the organization.
  • Build repeatable strategies to scale development efforts over time.
  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, information technology, or related field.
  • Minimum 5+ years of progressive business development, sales, or consulting experience in Technology, Infrastructure, Utilities or related industries.
  • 5+ years' experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives in a high-growth environment.
  • Strong knowledge of PMO services (project, program, and portfolio management).
  • Experience with PMO software/tools.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Proven track record of meeting business development targets and expanding into new markets.
  • Established ability to write winning RFI/SS/RFQ/RFP proposals.
  • Detail oriented, flexible, enthusiastic, and a team player with a focus on customer service.
  • Proficiency with all MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SharePoint, Office 365
  • Familiarity with project delivery models and the lifecycle of large-scale projects.
  • Self-starter mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results.
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive alignment without direct authority
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under rigid time constraints and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fully remote environment, managing teams and projects across geographically dispersed locations.
  • Ability to support East Coast and West Coast business hours as needed.

  • Proven experience with financial management, including PO, invoicing, costing, and budget oversight, a plus
