Civil Litigation Contract Attorney

Contract | Remote in South Florida - Able to commute occasionally within the firm's common practice areas (Broward, Palm Beach, &/or Miami Dade county) | $50 - $100 per hour (based on experience)


Mayersohn Law Group is seeking an experienced Civil Litigation Contract Attorney to support ongoing litigation matters on a remote basis. The ideal candidate is able to commute occasionally within the tri-co area (Broward, Palm Beach, &/or Miami Dade county), and is a skilled litigator with strong analytical abilities, excellent drafting skills, and the professionalism required to manage complex civil cases independently while meeting firm performance expectations.


The Civil Litigation Contract Attorney will handle a variety of civil matters, including contract disputes, business conflicts, partition actions, constructive trusts, litigation related to criminal conduct, and general commercial litigation. This role requires a high level of organization, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage a demanding caseload with accuracy, efficiency, and ethical compliance.


The strongest candidates will demonstrate professionalism, sound judgment, and the ability to collaborate effectively with staff, experts, and opposing counsel. They will consistently meet deadlines, uphold ethical standards, and deliver high‑quality work aligned with firm expectations.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Travel occasionally with the firm's common practice areas (Miami Dade, Broward, and/or Palm Beach counties)
  • Draft and revise pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and discovery responses
  • Conduct depositions, witness preparation, and factual investigations
  • Prepare for hearings, mediations, and trials
  • Develop strategic litigation plans tailored to client goals
  • Perform comprehensive legal research and case analysis
  • Negotiate settlements and communicate effectively with opposing counsel
  • Maintain accurate records, deadlines, and documentation in accordance with firm standards
  • Collaborate with staff, experts, and supervising attorneys as needed
  • Meet billable expectations and performance metrics consistently


WHAT YOU BRING
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Active member of the Florida Bar in good standing
  • Minimum of 5 years of civil litigation experience
  • Ability to travel occasionally with the firm's common practice areas (Miami Dade, Broward, and/or Palm Beach counties)
  • Demonstrated experience handling contract disputes, partition actions, constructive trusts, litigation related to criminal conduct, business conflicts, and commercial litigation
  • Strong litigation skills, including drafting, discovery, depositions, and hearing preparation
  • High proficiency in legal research, case evaluation, and strategic planning
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage a remote workload independently while maintaining professionalism and responsiveness
