Overview:
We are seeking a Juris Doctor (JD) to support our business through legal research, intelligence gathering, and strategic insights. This role focuses on leveraging legal databases (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis, Accurint) to identify litigation trends, support business development efforts, and assist with compliance and collections-related initiatives.
This is a flexible, part-time or contract-based opportunity ideal for an attorney interested in applying legal research skills in a strategic, business-oriented capacity.
Key Responsibilities:

1. Legal Research & Intelligence

  • Utilize Westlaw, LexisNexis, Accurint, and similar tools to analyze litigation activity and court dockets.
  • Identify active cases, involved attorneys, and expert witness usage.
  • Map relationships between attorneys and medical experts to support targeted outreach and business development.
  • Distinguish between active and inactive/retired experts and identify trends in expert utilization.
2. Business Development Support

  • Generate actionable leads based on case activity and attorney engagement.
  • Support marketing efforts by identifying high-value attorneys and firms.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to refine outreach strategies.
  • Participate in a performance-based commission structure tied to successful lead generation.
3. Expert Compliance & Monitoring

  • Assist in monitoring potential violations of contractual agreements by network experts.
  • Conduct research to identify potential unauthorized engagements or conflicts.
  • Provide clear, documented findings to leadership for further review.
4. Collections Support

  • Provide research and investigative support to the companys collections attorney.
  • Assist in identifying relevant case and financial information to support recovery efforts.
5. Verification & Discreet Outreach Support

  • Serve as a credible legal reference when needed for verification or outreach efforts.
  • Support existing validation processes (including mystery call initiatives) to ensure quality and accuracy.
Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) required (licensed or non-practicing attorneys welcome)
  • Experience with Westlaw, LexisNexis, Accurint, or similar legal research tools
  • Strong analytical, investigative, and critical thinking skills
