What is a Remote Multimedia Sales job?

A Remote Multimedia Sales job involves selling products or advertising solutions across various media platforms—such as digital, print, radio, or television—while working from a remote location. Professionals in this role connect with clients virtually, identify their advertising or product needs, and develop tailored multimedia proposals to meet those goals. They are responsible for generating leads, closing sales, and maintaining client relationships, all while using communication and sales technology. Remote Multimedia Sales roles require strong digital communication skills, self-motivation, and a good understanding of marketing and advertising trends.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Multimedia Sales professional, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Multimedia Sales professional, you need strong sales acumen, digital marketing knowledge, and experience with multimedia products or services, often supported by a relevant degree or equivalent experience. Familiarity with CRM software, virtual meeting platforms, and online advertising systems is typically required. Outstanding communication, self-motivation, and relationship-building skills help you excel in remote client interactions and negotiations. These skills are essential for driving revenue growth, managing client accounts remotely, and adapting to the fast-evolving multimedia landscape.

How do remote multimedia sales professionals typically collaborate with creative and technical teams to deliver client solutions?

Remote multimedia sales professionals often work closely with creative designers, content producers, and technical staff to ensure that proposed solutions meet client needs and are feasible to implement. Technical Content Marketer

Copia Automation

New York, NY • On-site, Remote

Job description

About Copia

Copia is the world's leading provider of OT backup & code management software. We develop novel tools and technologies to help companies manage, review, and deploy the code that runs industrial systems, factories, warehouses, and critical infrastructure. We're a 50+ person team growing 2x year-over-year, backed by top investors like Construct, Lux, Ironspring, and Renegade, and serving customers across all types of manufacturing, logistics, data centers, and energy.

About the Role

Copia is hiring a Technical Content Marketer to help us create sharp, credible, multimedia content for the OT cybersecurity and industrial automation community. You will work closely with our Senior Product Marketing Manager and create authentic and useful content for the broader OT community.

This is a content role for someone who can understand technical ideas, earn trust with a technical audience, and turn product and industry knowledge into articles, videos, demos, webinars, and other high-quality marketing assets.

You do not need decades of experience, but you do need experience in OT cybersecurity, OT system integration, controls engineering, industrial automation, or a related technical environment. A first project you might do is audit our website copy, suggest improvements, collect feedback, and implement your changes. Later projects include recording product demos, leading deminars, writing customer case studies, and creating useful how-to content.

New York City based candidates are preferred, but exceptional remote candidates will be considered.

What You'll Do
  • Be an internal voice-of-the-customer: help Marketing create genuinely valuable OT content while authentically connecting with the OT community.
  • Turn technical ideas into clear, useful content across formats: white papers, videos, webinars, demo content, blogs, visual assets, and other campaign materials.

  • Produce and edit multimedia content from webinars, events, customer conversations, product launches, and internal subject matter expert interviews.

  • Create and host helpful webinars for our customers, such as in-depth product demonstrations, deep-dives, feature spotlights, technical guides and how-to's, and more.

  • Work with product marketing to shape thought leadership angles, product messaging, technical narratives, and editorial quality.

  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, product, and technical experts to find stories worth telling.

  • Maintain a high bar for accuracy, clarity, visual polish, and technical credibility.

  • Use AI tools aggressively and thoughtfully throughout the content process: research, outlining, drafting, editing, video production, repurposing, and QA.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 3-6 years of meaningful experience or deep exposure in OT cybersecurity, industrial automation, controls engineering, manufacturing systems, PLCs, SCADA, or related technical environments.

  • 0-3 years of experience in marketing, content, product marketing, technical marketing, or a related creative role.

  • Strong work ethic, high learning velocity, and the ambition to grow into a trusted technical marketing voice.

  • Ability to break down and effectively explain complex topics in OT security to technical and non-technical professionals.

  • Strong writing ability, especially for technical short-form copy, and product-oriented content.

  • Motivation to use new AI tools and workflows as they emerge.

  • Exceptional attention to detail.

Why This Role
  • Help us define an entirely new market: OT cyber threat frequency and severity has caused a tipping point. Regulators are mandating the adoption of capabilities like automated backup, and companies need solutions. Copia is the fastest growing and only US player in this space, and we need people with real “OT DNA” to help us communicate effectively to the OT community.

  • Join a successful startup: Our ARR is growing faster than 2x, our customer retention is above 95%, our customers are household names, and we’re funded by top-tier investors. We promote internally, and we play as a team!

Benefits include unlimited PTO, employer-subsidized healthcare through Aetna, commuter benefits, in-office lunches, and more! Full-time, permanent employees also receive generous equity packages.

This position is hybrid out of our New York City HQ.
