As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, your daily tasks will include:

• Conducting thorough assessments and intake interviews to determine clients' mental health status and needs.
• Developing individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based practices and client goals.
• Facilitating both individual and group therapy sessions, providing a safe space for clients to explore their thoughts and feelings.
• Utilizing culturally responsive approaches to meet the unique needs of each client.
• Regularly monitoring client progress and making necessary adjustments to treatment plans to ensure effective outcomes.
• Providing resources and referrals to other healthcare professionals, such as psychiatrists, when integrated care is needed.
• Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care and improve treatment strategies.
• Maintaining accurate and timely documentation in the EHR system, ensuring compliance with ethical and legal standards.

You will work with a diverse clientele, including individuals facing mental health challenges such as depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and substance abuse issues. Your ability to connect with clients from various backgrounds will play a key role in their engagement and success in therapy.

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• A current and valid license as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in the state of New York.
• A minimum of two years of related experience providing mental health counseling.
• A deep understanding of mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment approaches.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, enabling you to build rapport and trust with clients quickly.

• Proven experience in delivering both individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing culturally responsive methodologies.
• Strong crisis intervention skills, with an ability to remain composed in high-stress situations.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and a range of computer applications relevant to the practice.
• A commitment to maintaining professional boundaries and upholding confidentiality in all client interactions.
