Touchstone Wellness Center LLC is seeking a dedicated and experienced Mental Health Therapist to join our team as a remote Substance Use Recovery Counselor. In this pivotal role, you will support clients struggling with substance use disorders, guiding them on their journey toward recovery. This remote position allows you to work from the comfort of your own home while being part of a supportive and innovative team. Our flexible work setting is designed to accommodate the varying needs of our clients, including offering both standard and evening shifts based on patient availability. The normal work schedule is Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with the understanding that some evening shifts may be required.

• Conduct thorough and compassionate assessments to identify the needs, strengths, and goals of clients seeking treatment for substance use disorders.

• Create tailored treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based therapeutic interventions aligned with each client’s unique recovery journey.

• Facilitate individual counseling sessions through techniques such as motivational interviewing and cognitive-behavioral therapy, empowering clients to overcome personal obstacles.

• Lead engaging group therapy sessions aimed at providing peer support and shared learning among individuals in recovery.

• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of psychiatrists and addiction specialists to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for each client.

• Provide crisis intervention support during substance-related emergencies, demonstrating both the ability to act decisively and the compassion necessary to comfort clients.

• Educate clients and their families about addiction, recovery options, and available community resources to foster a supportive recovery environment.

• Maintain meticulous documentation that adheres to legal and ethical standards, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with relevant regulations.

• Actively engage in team meetings, case consultations, and continued professional development to enhance clinical skills and knowledge of current best practices.

• Stay abreast of the latest research and advancements in the field of substance use treatment, continuously integrating new knowledge into practice.

The Mental Health Therapist will primarily work with individuals facing substance use disorders, developing rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds. Our patients may include those in early recovery, individuals seeking to prevent relapse, and clients engaged in long-term recovery. By providing compassionate support, you will be instrumental in helping clients regain control over their lives and successfully reintegrate into their communities.

• A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field is required.

• At least one year of relevant clinical experience, particularly in addiction treatment settings.

• Current licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in New York State is essential.

• Strong knowledge of substance use disorders, evidence-based treatment models, and recovery-oriented philosophies.

• Demonstrated experience in facilitating individual and group therapy related to addiction recovery.

• Exceptional communication skills, coupled with an empathetic and non-judgmental approach in all interactions with clients.

• Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and related technology tools to maintain accurate client records.

• Experience working in a multidisciplinary team focused on substance use disorder treatment is highly desirable.

• Familiarity with crisis intervention and trauma-informed care practices.

• Participation in professional development activities such as workshops, certifications, or seminars related to therapy and addiction treatment.
