Remote Medical Simulation Coordinators are professionals who organize, manage, and facilitate medical training simulations using virtual or digital platforms. They work with healthcare educators and technical teams to set up realistic scenarios that allow medical students and professionals to practice clinical skills remotely. Their role includes scheduling simulations, troubleshooting technical issues, ensuring the proper use of simulation software, and providing feedback to participants. This position is essential for expanding access to medical training, especially when in-person sessions are not feasible.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Medical Simulation Coordinator, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Medical Simulation Coordinator, you need expertise in healthcare education, simulation methodologies, and typically a degree in nursing, allied health, or medical education. Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS), simulation software (such as Laerdal or CAE), and virtual meeting platforms is commonly required. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and clear communication are crucial soft skills for managing remote teams and delivering effective simulation experiences. These competencies ensure high-quality training outcomes and seamless coordination in virtual healthcare education environments.

What are some common challenges faced by a Remote Medical Simulation Coordinator and how can they be addressed?

A Remote Medical Simulation Coordinator often faces challenges such as coordinating schedules across different time zones, ensuring smooth operation of simulation technology, and maintaining clear communication with remote teams. The Who, What, Where, When & Why
Oxford Medical Simulation (OMS) is scaling fast across U.S. nursing schools, medical schools, and academic health systems - and we're hiring a Clinical Educator to sit at the heart of that growth.
This is not a technology role. It is a clinical education role that happens to work with some of the most exciting simulation technology in healthcare training today.
You'll be the expert voice in the room when our commercial teams are working with academic buyers - translating what OMS does into what matters to faculty, curriculum leads, and program directors. You'll map our content to real curricula, lead onboarding, drive strong educational outcomes, and make sure every academic client gets the most out of the platform.
If you've spent years in clinical education, know what simulation-based learning looks like when it works (and when it doesn't), and want to use that expertise in a role with real commercial impact - this is the opportunity.
What You'll Own
  • Curriculum mapping: Work alongside Account Executives and Account Managers to map OMS content to the specific academic curricula of prospects and existing clients - from pre-licensure nursing programs to advanced practice programs.
  • Demonstrations: Lead or co-lead product demonstrations for academic audiences (faculty, program directors, simulation coordinators, academic leadership), bringing educational credibility the commercial team can't bring alone.
  • Onboarding and implementation: Own the academic client onboarding experience from signed contract to live production - site configuration, integration coordination, go-live readiness, and early adoption.
  • Training delivery: Design and deliver role-based training for faculty, simulation staff, and administrators - both remotely and on-site.
  • Educational outcomes: Monitor and support client utilisation, working proactively with Account Managers to ensure clients are achieving meaningful educational outcomes and are set up for renewal and growth.
  • Content and documentation: Create onboarding guides, training resources, curriculum mapping frameworks, and knowledge-base articles that scale your expertise across the business.
  • Internal enablement: Be the clinical and educational voice that helps our commercial team (Educational Specialists and Account Managers) engage confidently with academic buyers - coaching on curriculum language, accreditation context, and simulation pedagogy.

What You'll Do Day-to-Day
  • Partner with Account Executives on academic prospects that have reached the demo stage
  • Review prospect curricula ahead of demos and build tailored content mappings
  • Configure and customise demo environments to reflect real nursing/medical academic workflows
  • Lead onboarding for new academic clients, coordinating with client IT teams on integrations (e.g. SSO, LMS connections)
  • Develop and deliver faculty and administrator training programmes - live, recorded, and written
  • Work with Account Managers on regular client check-ins, supporting utilisation reviews and identifying adoption risk early
  • Represent OMS at academic conferences and simulation events
  • Feed client insight and curriculum trends back into the product and content teams
Who You Are
Required
  • Nursing Qualification and experience in nursing
  • Demonstrated experience as a clinical educator, simulation coordinator, or nurse faculty in an academic setting
  • Experience in a client-facing, commercial, or account support role (CSM, training specialist, implementation, sales engineer, pre-sales support)
  • Direct, hands-on familiarity with how nursing or healthcare curricula are structured
  • Confident presenting and facilitating in front of faculty, program leadership, and clinical educators
  • Able to translate a technology platform into educational language - without needing to be technical yourself
  • Highly organised, self-directed, and comfortable managing multiple concurrent projects in a remote-first environment
  • Not scared of using or playing with new technology
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Preferred
  • Exposure to SSO, LMS integrations, or healthcare IT environments
  • Comfort with CRM tools (HubSpot or similar)

You'll thrive here if you
  • Are energised by helping faculty and students get better outcomes from simulation
  • Can work confidently alongside commercial colleagues without losing your clinical educator identity
  • Like variety - curriculum mapping one morning, a live faculty onboarding the next
  • You enjoy using and experimenting with new technology
  • Want to use your clinical education expertise to have impact at real scale
