Job description

Job Title: District Sales Manager – Medical Devices

Location: Remote (must live within territory - northern California, Oregon, or Washington)

Hire Type: Full-Time

Compensation: $80K/year target base + sales commission (no cap)

"Must-Have" Requirements:

  • Proven B2B sales experience (medical device experience preferred but not required)
  • Experience managing a mix of new business and account growth (50/50 split)
  • Comfortable with remote work and traveling ~30% overnight, flexible during busy periods
  • Ability to prospect, cold call, conduct onsite visits, and deliver product demonstrations
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and proposal-writing skills
  • Self-motivated, coachable, and driven hunter mentality
  • Proficiency with Salesforce or similar CRM tools
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and acceptable driving record


Job Summary:

The District Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth across a Northern California, Oregon, and Washington territory, focusing on medical devices, suction regulators, flow meters, and medical gas/suction equipment. This role manages both new business development and existing accounts, engaging clinicians, biomed personnel, purchasing, and facilities staff. The DSM will generate their own pipeline, support infrastructure and renovation projects with extended sales cycles, and participate in trade shows, distributor meetings, and product demonstrations. 


Job Duties:

  • Achieve or exceed revenue targets, balancing short-cycle device sales and longer-cycle infrastructure projects
  • Prospect, cold call, and generate new business opportunities
  • Conduct onsite visits, distributor meetings, and product demonstrations
  • Prepare proposals and manage deal negotiations
  • Manage both active/new business and collaborate with Account Managers for passive/reactive accounts
  • Maintain accurate territory forecasting, sales reports, and pipeline management in Salesforce
  • Build relationships with clinicians, respiratory staff, facilities, purchasing, and contracts managers
  • Travel ~30% overnight, flexible based on territory needs and busy periods


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred. Associate degree or equivalent required.
  • Proven B2B sales success. Prior medical device, technical product, or travel sales experience a plus.
  • Experience building new business and managing existing accounts
  • Competitive, team-oriented mindset; coachable and trustworthy
  • Self-starter with a strong “hunter” mentality and drive to open new territory
  • Able to work independently in a remote setup
  • Must live within sales territory (northern California, Oregon, or Washington)
