Medical Customer Service Representative (Remote)

Location: 100% Remote

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM EST

Duration: 6-Month Contract

Pay: $22-$23/hour

Position Overview

One of our healthcare clients is seeking a Medical Customer Service Representative to join their Revenue Cycle Management team. This individual will serve as the primary point of contact for patients, assisting with billing inquiries, payments, insurance questions, and payment arrangements. The ideal candidate has strong customer service experience in a healthcare environment and can successfully manage a high volume of calls while navigating multiple systems.

Responsibilities
  • Answer and manage 45+ inbound calls daily from patients regarding billing and account inquiries.
  • Assist patients with payment processing and setting up payment plans.
  • Review and explain Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) to patients.
  • Address questions related to insurance coverage, balances, and billing statements.
  • Research and resolve patient account issues while providing excellent customer service.
  • Document interactions accurately within internal systems.
  • Navigate multiple applications and databases simultaneously while maintaining productivity and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely resolution of patient concerns.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 1+ years of customer service experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Experience handling patient billing, insurance, or patient account inquiries.
  • Knowledge of Explanation of Benefits (EOBs).
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively multitask across multiple systems and screens.
  • Comfortable working in a high-volume call center environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Patient Access experience.
  • Patient Services experience.
  • Experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic.
  • Familiarity with patient registration, patient intake, medical scheduling, or medical terminology.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Raleigh, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
