Role Overview:
Achieve Test Prep is seeking a Remote Math Instructor to prepare and tutor adult learners pursuing college credit through mathematics courses and examinations. Instructors will teach either a 3-hour session per week or provide 1-hour individual tutoring lessons, helping students build confidence and mastery in foundational and college-level mathematics.
All instructional materials, including PowerPoint presentations, syllabus, and study guides, are provided. No grading or paper review is required.
Courses
  • Live Virtual Classes / Standard Instruction:
    • College Algebra
    • College Mathematics
    • Statistics
    • Fundamentals of Mathematics

Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Teach assigned class schedules and serve as a substitute instructor as needed
  • Deliver engaging, easy-to-understand instruction on mathematical concepts
  • Demonstrate patience and adaptability when supporting learners with varying math backgrounds and confidence levels
  • Motivate and support students in achieving exam readiness and course completion
  • Provide one-on-one tutoring support when needed
  • Simplify complex mathematical concepts into practical, relatable examples
  • Adapt instruction in real time to accommodate varying experience levels
  • Track student progress and share key observations with the eLearning team
  • Collaborate with instructors and participate in team meetings
  • Perform other eLearning-related duties as assigned

Desired Skills & Experience:
  • Professional experience teaching, tutoring, or applying mathematics in an academic or professional setting
  • Strong understanding of algebra, statistics, and foundational mathematics concepts
  • Demonstrated patience and ability to support adult learners who may experience math anxiety or gaps in foundational knowledge
  • Qualifications may include (but are not limited to):
    • Degree or academic background in Mathematics, Statistics, Education, Engineering, Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field
    • Experience teaching, tutoring, mentoring, or coaching adult learners (online teaching experience preferred)
    • Experience teaching College Algebra, College Mathematics, Statistics, Fundamentals of Mathematics, or related mathematics courses
  • Comfortable using Zoom, Moodle, Google Workspace, and other eLearning technologies
  • Strong problem-solving and instructional skills
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and educational backgrounds
  • Reliable high-speed internet connection, functional computer, and noise-canceling headset
  • Professionalism, dependability, patience, and strong time-management skills
