Job description

At NorthBay Health the Registered Nurse on the Perioperative Unit you will provide safe, effective, quality, excellent nursing care to our patients following Jean Watson's Theory of Caring, the Relationship Based Care, and the NorthBay's professional nursing practice model. You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for all patients assigned to your care. You will also use a therapeutic professional relationship with the patient and their family along with your interdisciplinary team to facilitate the promotion, maintenance, and restoration of health for the patient. The NorthBay Way principles consisting of Caring, Communication, Collaboration, and Competence are values exhibited daily

Education:

  1. Graduate from an accredited school of professional registered nursing,  
  2. Nursing degree of BSN level or higher is required. (excludes grandfathered employees)

 License and Certifications:

  1. Valid, current and unencumbered RN license by the State of California. 
  2. Current AHA or AHA equivalent BLS and ACLS required. 
  3. TCAR preferred
  4. CNOR preferred

Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:

  1. Minimum of 2 years required (5 years preferred) in an acute care setting operating room 
  2. Competent in providing skilled registered nursing care to surgery/OR patients
  3. Skilled in Arrhythmia interpretation
  4. Proficient written, verbal, and electronic communication skills.  
  5. Modifies and delivers care that is specific to the special needs/behaviors of the infant through school aged adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient within the scope of service of the perioperative department

  1. Stand-by with 30 minute call-back required

Compensation Structure

NorthBay Health uses a structured compensation framework. Staff-level positions use a step-based system (Steps 1-5) based on years of directly related experience, with Step 5 representing 20 or more years of experience in the role. Manager level and above positions are paid a fixed annual base salary and are eligible for a variable incentive compensation plan. Physician compensation is structured based on specialty and role requirements.
